Okay, I'm sitting here at Eastwind putting in hours and I just had to type this up somewhere so it'd leave me alone and I could be a good boy and do my homework.
Betsy and I were joking around last night about how crappy roleplay in Yahoo's gotten since the user rooms were banned. The idea came up that there should be a band of characters, "settlers" if you will, that are wandering about in search of a place to start a new, less crappy Ayenee. There would be around three or four, and each would possess one of the gifts of a good roleplayer.
So far, the ones that have sprung to mind are: Punctuation, Courtesy, and Originality.
These gifts manifest in different ways for the characters; for example, the character who's gift is punctuation carries around a satchel of magical "seeds": commas, periods, parentheses, etc., that grow into might trees or vines when he plants them and bears their punctual fruit. Periods look like little, perfectly round watermelon seeds, commas are probably hard like a walnut, and sharp at the tip, and so on.
The character that carries Originality might be a little strange, wears a big cloak, has a glowing eye, possibly carries the Staff of Random, which can summon bizarre things for him. And he might carry around a chicken.
I haven't thought of anything for Courtesy yet, save that she's probably a girl, and she looks proper and clean, with a lightly-colored dress that has foofy things at the shoulders.
The problem is, it's a bitch to find people who'll roleplay characters with you. And even if you do find them, you can hardly ever get them online at the same time.
Betsy sounded kind of excited about it, but I don't know if it was because she was caught up in the moment or something. We'll see. It'd be awesome fun to do a group roleplay where a band of Ayenee settlers marched into the crappy new rooms and mocked through the ranks of idiots without mercy.
Oo. We could use a Vocabulary, too.
