New Who Short Story

This is a badly named category at best. People disagree about the length of a short story, but CoT defines it as anything 10,000 - 50,000 words long, which is ludicrous. Something 50,000 words long is approaching short novel length - in fact, both the Hugo and Nebula Awards classify anything above 40,000 words as a novel. These length standards, as ( Read more... )

Not that I want to be a great big bitch or anything, but the title of my story is actually The Six Stages of a Human Time Lord Biological Metacrisis. That would be stages plural, as there are six of them.

If you are going to specifically go after an author for typos, you might want to be careful enough NOT to make one in the TITLE of their story.

I guess we really are human after all.

It's fixed now, but for the record, before writing this entry, I cut and pasted the titles and links directly from the source code on the Children of Time website. You might want to bring the typo up with them.

This is a response to the discussion http://cot-tossed.livejournal.com/3274.html concerning A Small Piece of Coral

I thank you for your time and your compliments on the ideas in the story.

I understand that it is impossible for any one writer to please everyone. Since people, whose credentials in the areas of writing and publishing I know and respect, have weighed in on Coral, I will follow their professional advice and not change my current style.

It is obviously not your cup of tea and I'm okay with that.

I will trust that readers will not be swayed by one review but will read Coral for themselves and form their own opinions.
