Hi there - If you don't mind, I have a question. I don't want you to think I'm criticizing, because I'm not.
Why do so many people want to see friends' updates in this app? I have my friends page bookmarked as a menu button and check it constantly throughout the day with no problems. I "open" the page by clicking the button and it just refreshes the page. I've been curious as to how much easier it would be in the LJ app as opposed to doing it the way I do.
Why hello! Your question is a very valid one. Now I can answer for myself but my answer does not reflect the thoughts of every one else. When I first got my iPod touch (about a year ago) I had a lot of problems accessing the livejournal site. Eventually I gave up on it and never thought about it again. Until they came out with the application that is. Bookmarking like you did is a very good idea. One that I never thought to do because of all the problems I had originally. We could be like you and do that but you have to realize that most people are lazy and like to take the easiest route possible. Which in this case would to be able to have the friends updates convienently located right where we update our own LJ's. That's why I would like it. That way I don't have to exit the application and then open a bookmark and wait for it to load in order to see my friends updates. I'm just lazy really. But until they update the application I think I'm going to use your idea now that I see I can easily access the website. Thank you so much-
