Challenge 28: 1840s Daguerreotypes

Mar 04, 2009 22:38

If you've read Jane Eyre, then you might see a little bit more than just nameless faces in these images...;-) These immediately struck me as characters from Charlotte Brontë's novel; there seems to be one of young Jane and Helen Burns, Jane reading, even Jane with Mr. Rochester, and also Rochester by himself.

If you haven't read the book, or seen any of the (innumerable) film adaptations, then you can just enjoy these as haunting images from the mid 1840s, of long forgotten souls and faces of those who could have been our ancestors. :-)

You have one week to submit your entries, until the evening of Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 at 8:00 PM PST. I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
