Update for the week

So I'm finding that I'm liking my job more now. I'm starting to feel more comfortable in it (which is a good thing, since I'm deciding the fate of many students), and plus I have to say that I have an awesome supervisor. He's just a very nice guy, and he works hard to take care of his team.

I asked him a few weeks ago about switching my hours around. Right now I work two 8-hour days and two 4-hour days. Not bad, but a lot of driving, since work is 30 miles away. I asked if I could switch to three 8-hour days instead. And I found out this week that I was approved!! Starting next week, I'll only be working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Yay! :)

Cordy update: Hmm...I'll have to get some new pics of her up soon. She's really becoming a little toddler now. The exciting news is that she started to drink from a sippy cup last week! And she also actually enjoyed a bath this weekend (with lots of splashing). Still no walking or standing alone, but I think it'll come soon. She's also still quite the grump when she wants to be. She can throw a royal tantrum, and will now sometimes add biting into it.

Cordelia is also eating more solids now, and is almost entirely onto whole milk instead of formula. Her new favorite foods: grilled cheese, bananas, PB&J, yogurt, waffles, Goldfish crackers, and Gerber veggie crackers. She's still on a veggie and meat strike, so the veggie crackers are a sneaky way of having her eat her vegetables.

As for me, I'm finding I like to knit (thanks, Judith!). It's relaxing, and I really wish I had more time to do it. I plan on starting a shawl soon from Judith's Folk Shawls book. It'll probably take me forever to finish it, but ah well.

Oh, and we went to a pumpkin patch with my mom last weekend and got to choose our own pumpkins! It was so much fun to take a hay ride, and then search for the best pumpkins and cart them back. Cordy seemed to enjoy it too. We'll have pictures as soon as my mom e-mails them to me. Ah, I love fall - the changing leaves, the crisp air, pumpkins, Halloween, apple cider...
