Cordy has loved the Wiggles since she was 3 months old.
At times I've wondered if it was just that *I* loved the Wiggles, and really she would just watch anything that was bright and had lots of movement.
Today, however, I had my theory put to the test. I bought the new Baby Einstein DVD, wanting to try something new with Cordy. The new one has sign language on it, and I thought it would be helpful in teaching her sign language.
She watched for a few minutes, then crawled towards the TV. She stopped and looked at the DVD cases scattered at the base of the TV stand. Pausing for a moment, she then started pawing through the DVD cases. Cordelia then looked hard at one case in particular (Wiggly, Wiggly World), and looked at me and held up the DVD case.
I was struck dumb, wondering if she was trying to tell me something, or just holding up a DVD case. She then sat up and put the DVD case on her lap. She looked at the TV, looked at me, then looked at the DVD case and pointed to the picture of the Wiggles on the case. OK, message heard, loud and clear.
I took out the baby Einstein DVD, and put in the Wiggles DVD. Once the music started, Cordy got a big smile on her face and flapped her arms up and down. That's what she wanted.
So I guess she is old enough to have preferences. And apparently there is no TV but Wiggles to her.
