I'm already afraid I'm going to have Jingle Bell Rock stuck in my head until next Christmas.

I'm not sure if that's better or worse than "Holly Jolly Christmas."

Jingle Bell Rock has more versions, I think, so there's a higher chance of hearing it. Although I wouldn't mind avoiding Holly Jolly Christmas, either. Perhaps I should carry around earplugs for the rest of the month.

Why don't people get tired of covering these songs?

That sounds like a good strategy. I might have to use it.

They're capitalizing on a popular model, I suppose. It's safer financially to remake an old favorite than chance a new song which might not take off.

And playing normal music just doesn't sell the season and its spending.

It's important for shoppers to be in the mood for reckless spending, after all. Honestly, the consumerism of this season is staggering.

And somehow it only seems to get worse.

There's no reason why people can't budget and plan ahead, I just don't understand the frenzy.

Too many people leave everything they can until the last minute.
It's the culture of instant gratification.
