my head is spinning!

Well, I haven't made a decent post in a while...that's because I've been so busy.

1. I have made an important decision: I am quitting school. Actually, it's already done! My diploma and refund check will be sent to me within the next 2 weeks. I can go on and on about the reasons that I decided to settle for a 3 year bach instead of an honours degree. In an nutshell, I wasn't happy; I had no interest or will to stay in school; history is not what I want to do; I want to go into archaeology/antropology/ethnology or something like that...Having an honours degree would be no benefit to me. It wasn't worth the time and money. But the most important reason for doing it is...I need time off to find myself. I don't want to WASTE any more time and money into something I don't want (anymore). I talked about it with my parents and they agreed it was the best thing to do. I mean, it's not like I don't have a degree or anything. I still want to go to school but maybe in 2 years once I have money and know what I want to do with my life.

2. As of mid-September, I have become a vegeterian. It was easy at first, but I got into the habit of eating the same stuff so it's getting hard. But now that am no longer in school, I will have time to cook. Also I just remembered that I have kept a "Yves" veggie cookbook for years...now I can put it to good use. I find I have more energy. And for those who are wondering, yes it is an ethical thing. If it grosses me out to look at raw meat, I shouldn't eat it. I don't like the idea of something dying to sustain me when (especially in this day and age) so many alternatives are available to sustain me. One thing though, I'm definately not political about it. To each their own. And if I'm stuck eating meat for some reason, than so be it. It's not like I've never done it before! :)

3. I informed my boss yesterday that I was no longer in school and asked her if I could work full time instead of part-time. (I'm a contract worker.) She said she'll see about it but she was pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem...(I was supposed to start full-time only in January.) But today, she told me that as of next Monday, she would like to employ me as a FULL employee! This means permanancy, benefits (ie: dental) sick days and two weeks vacation every year. Also she said "we will discuss your pay range on Monday." Which I interpret as "We will give you a raise." (I hope I'm right!) I sooo did not expect this! Ha!

In other news, I have joined a Pilates class with Rachel. It's every Thursday night, which means that I'm starting tomorrow night! I'm a little nervous. Though the classes are beginner level, it lasts 1 hour! I'm looking forward to losing weight!
