I've run into a bit of a pickle with my velcro-to-leather issue.
I've made holsters from mostly-scratch, using small belts as the leg portions and fastening them with velcro. This plan is great, except that the adhesive on the velcro was nowhere near strong enough to keep it stuck to the belts (or rather, the belt with the fuzzy velcro on it is fine, it's the lower 'hook' velcro belt that is having an issue). The upper belt keeps pulling the whole chunk of velcro off when I try to fasten it tight on my leg. I tried using contact cement to fasten it down, but even that was pulled off.
Can anyone suggest a way to keep the velcro firmly stuck to the leather belts? Worse comes to worse I'll just staple it on, but that obviously isn't ideal, so any other suggestions would be incredibly appreciated. Gotta finish it up for this Saturday, and will be wearing it on the con floor all day, so I really don't want to have the holsters totally falling apart the whole time.
