So I guess I'll start of by writing about how the trip got of the ground. Most of my writing will probably in bullet points until I need to expand on an event...

May 13th-My passport was about to expire and I had go and get a new one.
Officially I applied for a regular ID-card (which is cheaper) but when I arrived at the city hall office of Tilburg I started thinking... what if I DO want to get out of Europe in the next few years? So it became a passport after all.
The woman manning the desk was really nice even though the pictures a brought in weren't usable. She referred me to a nearby photo studio and told me to come back as soon as I was done. After having my new photograph taken, on my way back I bought some patisserie and considered giving some to her... but... I didn't...

May 14th-My sister messaged me over Facebook and told me there was a cheap ticket deal over at KLM.com . Tokyo for a month, tops. At +/- 400 euros. Incredibly cheap. The offer was only valid for that one particular day she messaged me. After mulling it over for the next few hours I ended up booking a 1 month long trip. From the 1st of June (my mother's birthday) to the 30th of June.

May 15th-I received a message from city hall that I could come in and retrieve my new passport.

The new passports that are issued these days have an incredibly funky 80's color pallet and I'm loving it :D
