G'day!
I was having an indepth conversation yesterday with various others because I feel like Ontario isn't pulling it's weight... like I'm almost ABOVE it in some way. Yes, I realize I was born here and I should show some kind of gratitude... but that's precisely my point; I didn't CHOOSE to be born anywhere, it just so happens that I was. And it's not like I think that Ontario is the worst province around, but just that the others all seem to have stuff goin' on.
Take the Maritimes for example... they have that whole "Sea/Ocean" theme goin' down. As soon as you hear someone is from there it's like "oh right, the fish!". Also, P.E.I. has got that "Anne of Green Gables" thing and the fact that they live on an island of sweet red dirt and potatoes... I know I'm full of envy.
And then there is the sweet Prairies... it just seems that oil rigs, spacious fields and cattle ARE the way to go. Just look at the show "Corner Gas", they are always gettin' into somethin' on that show! I feel as if I could bring something to the table.
Most notable of the whole prairie clumping, is obviously Calgary with the Stampede and all... plus, Calgary pumped out 2 country music sensations: 1 being my cherished Paul Brandt, and the other being an idol of mine Terri Clark.
And then there's B.C. ... does it REALLY need an explanation? Mountains people, it's got MOUNTAINS! And personally, B.C. represents some kind of utopian lifestyle where everyone is partying it up & saying sweet things about their province.
I just think that if Canada was having a party, Ontario's invitation would have been "lost in the mail". Or, maybe it would be OBLIGATED to invite it, just because of Ottawa (at least this province can play that ol' Capital Card).
I am NOT, however jealous of Quebec (eww, the French!) and the NWT. They can keep the Yukon, I don't want any of that. Aren't they having some kind of big seal problem right now?? People wanting to kill them for shoes? I don't want to get in the mix of that.... I rest my case.
BUT, after doing some intense thinking, *and I do mean intense* I have decided to give Ontario another chance. After all, it does hold some sweet things, such as Niagara Falls, African Lion Safari, and my personal fav. Western Fair. As Michael said to me yesterday:
Just think Jen, if you woke up tomorrow and Ontario was gone... so would all of your memories". lol
If Ontario does not rise to the occasion however, I'm not gonna move or anything. Just, inside, Ontario will be dead to me. Emotionally, spiritually, dead to me.
Anyways, time to get back to studying!
SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT ONTARIO!!!
