Here's the next update from vinnie:
Things are going well here. Rudy and Megan are feeling much better.
We had worship this morning in Ashu's new building- the inaugural
service there. The villages we've been visiting are like going back
in time a few thousand years. No electricity in the first one, at the
end of a winding one lane road through fields plowed by ox drawn
wooden plows. The people asked if we were from north India- no
concept of light skinned foreigners, and we were the first Anglos and
people to bring the Message.
Everyone has now seen monkeys, had countless cups of chai, made
friends with innumerable cute Indian children, taken far too many
digital photos, learned to eat spicy food with their right hand only
and adapted well to the challenges. It's really much easier than we
told them it would be. The weather is not too hot or humid in this
part of the country, although it was awful in Delhi. They will have
some good rat stories to tell you, but they are taking things in
stride. We are taking some good cobra photos- from a distance! Mostly
small ones but interesting. Don't worry.
Lots more to tell you when we see you. Local response is excellent.
It's not easy to email from here but we'll try to get the kids an
opportunity once this week. Taking them downtown too much is unwise.
For the team,
Vinnie
that's all for now.
