whoa. i'm a grad student.
so the best thing about grad school so far is that:
a) i like smart, cool people
b) smart, cool people are in grad school
c) said smart, cool people seem to like me OK and i've made about 10 acquaintances/friends in 2 days
but classes haven't started yet, so it's pretty much just summer camp for now... (with free beer in a university-owned pub in the basement of one of the buildings -- strange, yes?)
EDIT 4 days later: wow, ok, it's not summer camp anymore. i have many hundreds of pages of reading before the classes have even started, which i suppose makes sense since the classes are only 10 weeks long. but still, this is very different from undergrad, where the whole first week of classes was basically thumb-twiddling.
