No love for the monkey
According to TV Guide, Love Monkey has been cancelled three episodes in, to make way for February sweeps. I was just getting into the show too. That Wayne kid is kind of cute and I wanted to see if he'd become a star or what. I mean, with some midseason shows, you know they're just filler and will be quickly forgotten. And then you have some shows which quickly become an improbable hit, like Grey's Anatomy. And I think Love Monkey had the potential to be one of those. Or at least hold its own. Well, it was fun while it lasted. I'm just tired of being disappointed by good shows that don't last and bad ones that never end.
...And one of those bad shows? Charmed. Okay, so it's not that bad, it's just a shadow of its former self. Which is natural when you've been on for eight years, I guess. I'm bringing this up because Kristin from E! talked to Rose McGowan recently, and when asked if Charmed would have a ninth season, she said "No", that the show will end in May. "My contract's done. Other contracts are done, so no. No. You know, the show's been on forever." She also revealed that Leo might be coming back (let's hope so) and (spoiler alert!), Paige is going to get married. That seems strange. I can't really picture Paige getting married; she seems like too much of a free spirit to be tied down.
Anyway, I guess the upside to this is that now that it's been confirmed, they can go about writing a nice ending and not something hastily thrown together like last year. Maybe they can salvage what's left of their dignity and go out on a high note. Another plus is that there won't be a stupid Billie spinoff as rumoured. Introducing a character that the audience is set up to hate wasn't a good idea to begin with; I don't know why they thought a spinoff with her would work. Now, if they were to do one, the obvious direction to go in would be to follow Piper's sons and their adventures in the future. I might watch that. But that won't happen. Yeah, I'm not bitter.

Also, I have a new layout. I tried something really different this time, using a style by dooped. I haven't tried customizing my journal that much, so I'm surprised that it was pretty easy to do. And I must say that this one has more options than the Generator style I was previously using. I also made this pretty header, which I'm proud of. It's just a simple stock shot with some text, but I'm pleased that it turned out nice. It's a very tranquil look. I was getting the winter blahs and wanted something tropical looking. And since I can't afford a vacation, this was the next best thing. So I can't imagine getting bored of this for a few months at least.
