Music Monday: Ivana Santilli

Mar 09, 2009 23:46

The other day, I was listening to "Brown", the debut album from Ivana Santilli, and I remembered how much I like it. It's held up very well, considering it came out ten years ago. It's almost as if no time has passed at all. This woman is a powerhouse. Not only does she sing, she writes, plays several instruments, produces music for herself and many others, and releases stuff through her own label. She is a modern-day renaissance woman; there seems to be nothing she can't do. She's definitely incomparable (and very nice, as the only "celebrity" I've ever met, so maybe I'm a bit bias). Ivana followed up "Brown" with 2004's "Corduroy Boogie" and 2008's "TO.NY", but Brown is still my favourite, so here I present four tracks, as well as a collaboration she did for a house compilation. It's some serious soul. Enjoy!

(Did I mention she's gorgeous?)
