"I Won't Push You Unless You Have a Net"

I said I was gonna knit in bed last night, but I didn't. Instead, I went right to sleep! Weird for me. Last night was probably the earliest I've gone to bed since I've been home. It was about 3:30 AM.

But I didn't get up early! I slept till about 3:30 PM. I don't understand how I do it.

My grandma was the only one home when I got up. She cooked me gravy and biscuits and bacon as she has every day I've been here save Christmas. My uncle had called wanted help on his computer. I was gonna wait till Mom and Bee got in before I went to help him.

I called Eric about three or four times before he finally answered. I spaced the calls out to about five to ten minutes a piece. He acted like he was mad that I kept calling, but I know he wasn't. That's his way of admitting that it's silly we aren't talking. The conversation was short, but my mood immediately improved from it! I was so happy that he wasn't still being silly.

I knitted till Mom and Bee got in, then I went to help my uncle. The rest of the night I played Zelda and finished the second complete double helix twist in my DNA scarf pattern. Two down, eight more to go! The scarf is probably a little over a foot long now.

Bee and I watched 'Napoleon Dynamite' tonight. I was just finishing up the last two rows in the DNA pattern when Bee put the movie in. I immediately became interested in it. It's one of the stupidest movies I love. Joanne called during the movie, but Bee and I wanted to finish it. I can't call Joanne back because her mom has a block on the phone so that no one can call past 9:30 PM. I had her call me back in twenty minutes, which might have been enough time to finish the movie. Instead, I had to have her call me in another twenty when she did call because Bee had caused us to pause in the movie for a bit while I tried to scare a fly into another room. What are flies doing alive this time of year?

Tonight was the last night I get to talk to Joanne for a while. She's back on the plane to Paris tomorrow afternoon. She'll be celebrating her New Year somewhere in the sky, probably over the Atlantic, crossing time zones, traveling forward in time, probably asleep. What an interesting thing for an interesting person. I'm so jealous.

I finally talked to Tiff for an okay length of time tonight. I'm sure I will talk to her more once I get back to Columbia. It doesn't seem right for me to talk to people on the phone while I'm home. Well, besides Joanne, because I can't call her while she's in Paris without a land line. Tiff and I talk about things that require me to be away from others. Tiff brings out the best in me. I love my friends! Tiff and Joanne are my best friends in the world!

A small miracle happened about two hours ago. I put Blondie and Angelina together (again). I watched them very closely for an hour and they didn't fight! They've been grooming and smelling of each other. Occasionally, they'll box or pin one another down, but no serious biting or squeaking. I had a glove on so that if I had to separate them, I wouldn't get a huge bite mark. But the glove was unnecessary. They have scared me a little by all the sniffing and standing still while standing beside one another, but overall I think they will get along fine. Right now they are asleep, Angelina is stretched across Blondie. They were asleep like this when I first started checking my e-mail. They woke up for a bit as I started this entry, smelled of each other, played, and are now back to sleeping. I'm going to put them beside my bed tonight so that I can check up on them.

Before I started to update LJ tonight, I found a clip of Tori's 'Sleeps with Butterflies' from her album, 'the Beekeeper,' which is coming out in February. At first I thought the clip was boring and that Tori's album was going to be bland. But then, I listened to it more closely and I think I'm now falling in love. I can't wait for the album to come out! I tried to find a leak of it online, but no luck. I had all of 'Strange Little Girls' about this long before its release. I at least had six promo tracks of 'Scarlet's Walk' about this time. I'm so excited to hear the album!

I'll probably stay awake and play Zelda for a while before going to sleep tonight. I have nowhere to be tomorrow. Life is good!

I'm grateful for:

1. Patience in knitting.
2. Eric not being upset anymore.
3. Gerbils sleeping together and grooming each other!
