Hey, is this thing still on?
Yes, it's been a long time since I last wrote in this space and yes, I am still alive (barely). After I last wrote (my birthday no less), I was placed in the jaws of hell at work; which translates roughly to having to work 10-12 hours a day for three weeks because of poor planning and general stupidity. It's fun to not experience Summer!
Samantha had a birthday and being that we were both in need of a massage and general pampering, we went to a spa and although it was expensive, it was awesome and a perfect thing for a lovely birthday (hell, I'll probably go back for massages).
We both started running (yes, I can see you all chuckling at the thought of me doing exercise) recently due to a challenge a co-worker of hers set up. So far, I'm actually enjoying the experience of realizing just how out of shape I am.
Also, we both got a new cat. His name is Abel (or Abe or meow face) and he's cute, but it will take some time for him and Ronin (damn herding dogs) to get along.
He has a tiny baby meow that is so cute.
And finally, we just both got back from St. Paul, Minnesota yesterday because we attended the Minnesota State Fair which really should just be called the "Meat on a Stick Festival" because let's face it, that's what it truly is. I mean when you can find things like "Hot Dish on a Stick," "Spaghetti and Meatballs on a Stick," and "Sloppy Joe's on a Stick," then you know you've found stick food heaven (or is it hell?). Before you ask, I didn't eat any of the above items because seriously, they make me have heart attacks just thinking about them.
Sam is now en route to Atlanta and I am at home taking care of our animal safari home. I better go before we acquire any wildebeests.
