Do not ever hire the company "All My Sons Moving and Storage" in the metro-Atlanta area.
Here is my list of  of why:

1.  I booked them 1 month in advanced to move me, called a total of 3 times before the moving date to verify I was booked and everything ready, and the didn't show up during the 3 hour time window they gave me.  When I called them the day of the move when they hadn't showed up, they said that I had never booked them, that the reservation was "penciled in" and was never confirmed.  At that point I didn't not feel like starting an argument with the owner on the incompetency of his booking staff and just told him I needed to move that day and could he get me a truck and moving men.

2.  A moving truck  and crew of 3 men finally did arrive at 6:20 pm instead of the 7-10 am time period I booked them for.  Now when I was quoted I was told that I would get 2 men and a truck at $104 an hour.  Larry, the head of the crew, said the "All my sons" tries to rip people off by  only sending out 2 guys per trip so that it will take longer to do the job.   In order to remedy this, Larry brought a 3rd guy along to make the job shorter, in return he asked us to  pay him under the table an amount that we felt "comfortable with" at the end of the job.

The boyfriend and I both understood that we were being scammed, but Larry was so upfront about it and we need to get all our stuff moved out so we just said fine.

3.  The 3 men crew were relatively fast, but not too careful, and several furniture items were scratched.

4.  When it came to the end of the move, they held back several items until we  had provided a credit card to pay  for the move.   At this point Larry mentioned all kinds of prices and rates that I had never heard of before.  The boyfriend thinks that Larry was just trying to feel me out to see how easily I could be manipulated into paying more than what I was quoted.

5.  Larry wrote up a credit card payment slip that charged me for the full amount that I was quoted.  This would have been fine, except for the fact that I had paid a $100 deposit and that should have been deducted from the final payment.  I talked with the owner for a while on the phone,  then the boyfriend talked to him.  (I have to say that it took great restraint on my part not to let the asshole have it).   This whole part was bizzare, and basically I have to keep checking my credit card and make sure they don't overcharge me.

6.  Larry would not give me a copy of the invoice listing all of the charges and deposit information because he said he didn' t have an extra copy for me.   At this point,  I just didn't know what to do:  I knew that the owner wasn't going to be cooperative;  It was already 9:30 pm; and I had been up since 4:00am packing and moving things all day.  So I just let it go.  I haven't tried calling the corporate office to get a copy of this invoice yet.  There just hasn't been time.

Well that's my story.  Good luck on your next move!
