Oh and additionally...

after work today, I took Rehab Greg home, and we stopped at MacDonald's, as always on Saturday nights...it's our "date night"...go figure...I'll let him call it whatever he wants, as long as he's buying dinner. I had Jason with me tonight too, because Jason's living in Waukesha again, right down the street from my place. So, on the drive from work to MacDonald's, about a 7 or 8 minute drive...my E-brake light flashed on, then off a couple times, though I checked, and the E-brake wasn't even slightly on. Then from MacDonald's to Greg's house, about another 7 minutes or so, the light flashed on then off one more time. About a mile or two down the road from Greg's place, I had stopped at a red light and was making a right-hand turn...when traffic was clear, and I pressed down on the accelerator to make my turn, my car kinda started grinding, and the engine was just revving, and it wasn't really going anywhere...kinda like it was in neutral or something, only I hadn't touched the shifter at all...I have an automatic. I turned on my hazards, and said to Jason, "oh my god, what the hell is going on with my car?!". Jason offered to get out and push it to the shoulder. I had put the car in park, then shifted into neutral, and I felt the car start moving...so on a whim, I put it in Drive, and it was fine. Jason said that maybe my car had just shifted gears somehow. My question to all you car guys (and girls) out there is, is this possible even though I have an automatic? Or is this something that I should be really concerned about, and will cost me buckets of money? My car was fine all the way to Jason's place, which is about another 10 minutes from where we were. My car is a '98, and only has 78k miles on it, and I've been the only owner, so I don't really expect it to have any major problems yet. But on the other hand, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to cars, and I really don't do much for it as far as maintenance, except for get oil changes and what not.
