New test to see if you're an introvert:
When you're at a party, do you constantly think about when you're going to leave... even if you're kinda having fun? I do. On those tests, I always score right in the middle between extrovert and introvert. But I think they should add this as a deciding question. Anyway, I think I'm an introvert when it's all said and done.
Minneapolis went very well. I didn't forget too many of the words, my chatter between the songs was semi-entertaining (which, for me, is quite good), and everyone was really nice... plus we met some really cool - though often rather drunk - people. I failed to take any pictures (it's tough to take pictures of yourself), but I'll post some as soon as Sasha passes 'em my way. (HINT HINT, Sasha!) It was a cool stage with nice lighting, so I think the pictures might be pretty cool lookin'.
Also, I just found another Duchess 33 review. This one from Sideline Magazine. I was curious what they'd say, 'cause they didn't really like any Cosmicity albums (though they did give EP42 a free pass back in 03). Anyway, I'm pleased that they got it. It's a pretty good review.
From Sideline Magazine below:
It is difficult to pin this album in one category. Flirting with electro, house, hip hop, synthpop and industrial this cd offers something diverse, fresh and different. Known as the man behind the band Cosmicity, M. Nicholas chose for, as he claims, a dirtier sound. This dirt can also be found in the lyrics; almost all the songs can be interpreted as stories about sex. Opener “Green” opens very smoothly with a driving bass line and sing along chorus. Another highlight is the very danceable “Perverse”-song. Half way the album “Two Sandwiches” caught my attention with its stomping 4/4 beat and sexy, twisted vocal production. “Little Goth Girl”, which makes me think of NIN, is another brilliant track, telling the story of somebody entering a goth club for the first time. Overall this album has a very bright, well produced sound and although the artwork could have been more glitchy and sexy this is a project which needs some attention, because this is modern music in the vein of artist like Tiga. (Noa:9)Noa. (I think that 9 might be a 9 out of 10. I hope so, anyway.)
