Weekend at Gabriel's 1/2

“I don’t understand why you felt I shouldn’t hear about this,” Dean roared.

Following Sam’s confession of his services to Fitzgerald McCloud-the details of which he’d only vaguely been able to obtain from either of the Winchesters-Sam’s private session with Missouri had been turned into the family therapy of old by a furious and confrontational ( Read more... )

OOh that was heartbreaking. Sam had a lot of fears about Dean finding out, and how it would affect his brother's perception of him - and now it is CAS who has changed his opinions and feelings towards Sam. This is so sad!

I'm really, really glad to see you here, because I remember awhile back you weren't liking this 'verse because it villanized Sam. Your opinion is highly valued, and I'm glad that you got what I was trying for here: that Dean's opinion will never change, but Cas' will evolve. Thank you so much for reading, and taking the time to comment!

Well in this case, I think Cas's opinion has devolved :P I have skimmed over some of the other stories but haven't had a chance to comment indepth. I think the first story I ended up reading - the one that portrayed the worse of Sam - was perhaps not the best one for me to start with. I do think it is interesting that people look down on recovering addicts. It takes away something from their accomplishment of coming back from that life when so many 'recovering' addicts end up overdosing or worse, they never attempt to recover at all.

It's true. And for the record: one of my brothers has issues with addiction, I love h/c, I love Sam, and I've recovered from an eating disorder, and, though my story isn't the same as addict's it's very similar. Although this 'verse will delve into angst and loss and sadness, I ultimately intend it to be one of comfort, strength, and redemption: just as, I feel, SPN is in canon. :)
