Title: The Secret
Pairing: Kyumin and other ninja pairings
Disclaimer: If I owned Super Junior I would be flaunting it.
Summary: Kyuhyun thinks he knows Sungmin's secret. But when he finds out what it really is, he wishes he didn't.
ΩThe SecretΩ
The day Kyuhyun leaves for China is the day he begins to lose Sungmin. He doesn’t realize it. His first clue though is when he hears something extremely weird that he doesn’t know what to make of. He’s got his backpack which he’ll carry on the plane, stuffed with his gaming consoles and his new iPod touch. Sungmin has put a sweater in his hands and is now hugging him tightly.
“I love you. Make Korea proud. I’ll wait for you,” Sungmin promises, his eyes brighter than normal. Kyuhyun swallows, knowing that if he could, he would go right back to the dorms and never leave.
“I love you too. I’ll be back before you know it. I’ll always be thinking of you,” Kyuhyun whispers. He bends down slightly, holding the elder’s body close to his, enjoying the feeling of fitting perfectly together. Sungmin, he decides, was made to fit with him.
“Have a safe flight,” Sungmin says before he pulls away. Looking around none too discreetly, he stands on tiptoe and presses a quick kiss on Kyuhyun’s lips. The magnae is surprised. Usually Sungmin likes to be private; he’s shy. But he grins and leans down, pressing a longer kiss to his lover. Sungmin pushes him away gently, looking at the ground.
“Keep doing that and I won’t be able to let you get on that plane. I’ll keep you here,” Sungmin murmurs. Kyuhyun understands. It’s hard for him too.
“Maybe I should let you,” Kyuhyun jokes. Sungmin cracks a smile and then steps back. He looks up at Kyuhyun, his cute dark eyes large and sad.
“Kyuhyun…I…” Sungmin trails off. Kyuhyun gazes at him, knowing their time is short but wanting to give Sungmin all the time in the world.
“Yes?” Kyuhyun breathes.
“I…love you,” Sungmin blurts before crushing himself against Kyuhyun. Now he really doesn’t want to leave. His chest is hurting already from the thought of leaving Sungmin.
“Minnie…you have no idea how much I love you,” Kyuhyun replies, stroking Sungmin’s hair softly. The call to board the plane comes over the intercom and suddenly, there is a crescendo of sobs, I’ll miss yous and good lucks coming from the thirteen men standing there.
Kyuhyun holds Sungmin’s hand. Then he bends down and kisses Sungmin roughly, one last time. His last kiss until they’re told to come home. They hold onto each other’s hands, extending their arms until they can’t reach that far anymore and their fingertips brush one last time before they are separated for good.
As Kyuhyun goes down the hallway that leads to the plane, he hears Eeteuk say something puzzling.
“Sungmin, did you tell him?”
“No.” He hears Sungmin answer. “It would only make his performance suffer.”
“Are you sure that is the right choice?”
“As long as he’s happy, I don’t-” and the conversation cuts off. Kyuhyun can’t help but puzzle over the oddness of that conversation. He puts it out of his mind as he gets on the plane and watches as South Korea fades underneath the clouds and they burst through the whiteness into honey coloured light and aquamarine sky.
The plane lands and they go to their hotel, relying solely on Hankyung for direction. He’s the only one that knows how to get anywhere because none of the rest of them know how to speak Mandarin and are about as helpful as Pogo sticks.
Kyuhyun calls Sungmin, knowing that despite the one hour time difference, he’s probably still up. He’s rewarded with the gentle voice of his hyung who is happy to hear from him. The two pass an hour and a half, just talking about the flight and how interesting China is.
Then Kyuhyun hangs up reluctantly, telling Sungmin that he has to sleep because he has a Mandarin lesson tomorrow which he doesn’t want to miss but will if Sungmin wants to keep talking.
Sungmin laughs, tells him to get a goodnight’s sleep and then kisses him over the phone before hanging up. Kyuhyun knows he’s got the stupidest smile on his face as he goes to sleep. He doesn’t care. That night, he dreams about himself and Sungmin, reuniting in a whirl of pink, green and utter love.
It doesn’t take long for their schedule to grow longer and his time talking with Sungmin to grow shorter. Sungmin takes it all into stride, saying that it’s good China wants them all the time. He’s glad that Kyuhyun has found a friend in Zhoumi and tells him not to like him too much or he’ll have to take him out.
Kyuhyun laughs and while he does, he hears an odd sound. It kind of sounds like Sungmin choking. He hears someone say, “Min, what’s wrong” and recognizes Eunhyuk. Completely forgetting about the sound, he starts to speak.
“Minnie, why is Eunhyuk in our room?” Kyuhyun asks in a perfectly controlled voice that only quavers slightly when he reaches Eunhyuk’s name, alerting Sungmin to the fact that Kyuhyun will probably be jealous.
“He came to borrow my cellphone charger because he lost-hey! Get off of Kyu’s bed!” Sungmin shouts into the phone because Eunhyuk has now jumped on the other bed in the room, messing up Sungmin’s hard work.
“He’s on my bed?” Kyuhyun asks, feeling jealous of Eunhyuk. Of course, when Donghae disappeared, Eunhyuk would go to Sungmin. They were good friends and often talked to one another. It made sense that Eunhyuk would go to Sungmin to ease the feeling of loneliness. Still, Kyuhyun felt himself tense at another in their room.
“Yes, I’ll kick him off. Hang on,” Sungmin sighs. Kyuhyun could hear Sungmin telling Eunhyuk he’d talk to him later and to please leave and call Donghae so he could talk to Kyuhyun in private thank you very much. Kyuhyun felt mildly (mightily) pleased at that.
“Is he gone?”
“Yeah, he went to go call Donghae now that his phone is charging,” Sungmin replies. Kyuhyun wondered if he sounded more tired than he actually was. The two of them continue talking until two o’clock (three, Sungmin’s time). The two of them say goodnight, drawing out the I-love-yous.
Just before Kyuhyun closes his phone, he hears a crash on the other side and a muffled yelp. He immediately pulls his phone back open and says, “Sungmin?! Are you okay?!”
There’s silence and then the dial tone sounds. Kyuhyun looks at the phone, debating what to do. Sungmin has a habit of throwing his phone onto the couch, the floor, anywhere if he talks late at night. He was probably tired, Kyuhyun muses. He feels guilty for keeping Sungmin up. He promises himself that next time, they’ll talk earlier.
Next time comes later than he intends. There are so many performances and shows that they go on and Mandarin lessons to have that Kyuhyun barely has time to even look at his phone. He sees missed calls from Sungmin and wishes he had the time to respond.
Then one day, he borrows some time before a performance and calls Sungmin. He is utterly surprised when Sungmin picks up. At five (Sungmin’s time) in the afternoon, they are usually out at a schedule. But Sungmin has the day off, Kyuhyun supposes.
“Kyuhyun?” Sungmin answers, sounding surprised. “Aren’t you wow-ing the people of China now?”
“I have some time. I wanted to talk to you. I miss you so much,” Kyuhyun murmurs into his phone. He hears a sigh on Sungmin’s side and wonders what his hyung is thinking.
“I miss you too, Kyu. How is Super Junior M doing?” Sungmin asks. Kyuhyun shrugs even though Sungmin can’t see him.
“We’re doing okay. We have more fans than I expected. Hankyung is a totally different person here. He’s finally coming out of his shell. The best part is, we can now use his excuse of saying “I don’t understand” when things aren’t in our favour,” Kyuhyun says.
“Poor Hankyung. He’s one of the only ones who actually understands,” Sungmin giggles. Kyuhyun laughs with him. Then he hears, “Sungmin, dinner is ready” on the other side. It’s Eunhyuk. Something boils in Kyuhyun. Eunhyuk in Sungmin’s room again is total coincidence right?
“Is that Eunhyuk?” Kyuhyun asks. Sungmin knows that he’s getting jealous again.
“Yes. Eeteuk is here too. Do you want to talk to him?” Sungmin says in order to divert conflict.
“Tell him hi for me,” Kyuhyun orders. He can hear Sungmin passing on his greetings to Eunhyuk and Eeteuk.
“Kangin made us dinner. He’s very good at making kimchee soup,” Sungmin says. He sounds a little groggy, Kyuhyun thinks.
“You should eat, hyung. Food is good. I have a performance so I have to go too,” Kyuhyun says.
“Okay. I love you. Bye,” Sungmin says.
“I love you too. Bye,” Kyuhyun smiles but before he hangs up, he hears Sungmin say “I don’t want to eat” and Eunhyuk’s response of “what do you want then?”
Kyuhyun doesn’t get much time to think about it. He’s being whisked all over the fourth largest country in the world. His mind is so full of what is coming next that he completely forgets about Eunhyuk in their room.
Or in any case, he does until he accidentally picks up Hankyung’s phone instead of his phone. Hankyung has the same model in the same colour. But Kyuhyun knows his phone because all of his ringtones are personalized for people. Or at least, he thinks they are until he hears It’s You and immediately answers the call. He opens his mouth to say hello but never gets the chance.
“It’s getting worse. I don’t like the look of it at all. You’re now a leader, you can help me. Do you think it will change our group’s dynamics at all? He’s worried about that a lot. It’s always others before himself. I don’t know why he won’t look after himself for once. Sungmin and Eunhyuk are-”
At the mention of Eunhyuk and Sungmin, Kyuhyun breaks in.
“What about Eunhyuk and Sungmin?” Kyuhyun asks, a dangerous tone in his voice.
“Kyuhyun?” Is what comes as a response. Kyuhyun recognizes Eeteuk’s voice and wonders why Eeteuk was calling him and why he had the ringtone he reserved for Sungmin.
“Why do you have Hankyung’s phone?” Eeteuk asks. It’s then that Kyuhyun sees the small silver H engraved in the back of the phone (the work of Heechul who says he wants Hankyung to remember him) and realizes that Hankyung set the same tone for Super Junior’s leader as he did for Sungmin.
“I picked it up accidentally.”
“Oh…”
“What is this about Sungmin and Eunhyuk” Kyuhyun asks again.
“Sungmin and..? Oh, it’s nothing. It’s a surprise. Sungmin will tell you all about it,” Eeteuk says hurriedly before saying, “I have to go. T is on stage now.”
Kyuhyun stares at nothing as Eeteuk hangs up. Sungmin and Eunhyuk? What was so important about those two that he was mentioning to Hankyung? Was Eunhyuk trying to pull something on Sungmin?
Kyuhyun hears It’s You coming from another place in the apartment and immediately rushes to find his phone in his room.
“Kyuhyun?” Sungmin’s voice comes over the line. Kyuhyun’s throat dries.
“Sungmin, hi,” Kyuhyun responds.
“We’ve made a new subgroup called Super Junior T. We sing trot. Sorry I couldn’t call sooner. We’ve just debuted as a subgroup,” Sungmin said excitedly.
“That’s great. Who’s in your subgroup?” Kyuhyun asked.
“Kangin-hyung, umma, Heechul, Shindong and Eunhyuk,” Sungmin reports. “And me. Eunhyuk and I were the last to be chosen,” he adds as an afterthought. Kyuhyun’s thoughts relax. That’s what Eeteuk-umma was trying to say.
“That’s great. Have you got any songs out yet?” Kyuhyun asks. “Or are you just doing renditions of Super Junior songs?”
“We’re working on one song but I’m not going to tell you what it is. You’ll have to wait until we release it and then I’ll send you the mp3,” Sungmin chirps. Kyuhyun frowns. There’s something about his voice that sounds different. It sounds like he’s forcing himself to be cheerful. Kyuhyun hears Eeteuk yell, “Sungmin! Tell Kyuhyun you love him and hang up. We’re on in ten!”
“You heard Teukie-umma?” Sungmin sighed.
“Yeah. I hope you blow them away,” Kyuhyun said.
“We will. Blow away everyone you perform for too,” Sungmin cheers and then says an extremely breathy and longing, “I love you”. And Kyuhyun feels so turned on that he mumbles his goodbye before sprinting to the washroom.
Kyuhyun thinks about Sungmin more now. He doesn’t know why, he just does. He thinks about Sungmin during shows, concerts and every other time in between. His dreams become more vivid. They’re always together, having fun, kissing, making love.
And then his dreams change. Sungmin is being ripped away from him by a pair of hands that he can’t see the owner of. But he doesn’t like it. Those hands are cold…unwelcoming…Kyuhyun tries to break their grip on Sungmin. But he can’t. And then he falls. Through dark tunnels and cold spaces until he lands on soft, grey grass. And Sungmin isn’t there.
These dreams terrify Kyuhyun and he calls Sungmin immediately after, just to check that he’s okay. Most of the time, he doesn’t answer because he has a schedule too. But he always calls after. And then, he doesn’t call for two weeks. And Kyuhyun is going crazy.
He calls after a performance and he hears “hello?” on the other side.
“Eeteuk? What are you doing with Sungmin’s phone?” Kyuhyun asks, surprised.
“Oh…I…uh…” Eeteuk is interrupted by someone with a husky voice asking, “who is it?”
“It’s Kyuhyun,” Eeteuk replies into the phone.
“Kyuhyun!” Sungmin’s voice is chipper and bright. Kyuhyun wonders who else is with them.
“Hello. I just wanted to see if you were all right,” Kyuhyun says.
“Yeah, I’m fine!” Sungmin chirps. Kyuhyun feels differently but doesn’t say anything. What if he’s just making a big deal of nothing?
“Good. I just…had another dream about you,” Kyuhyun says, feeling slightly embarrassed that he’s so weak.
“Don’t worry about me, Kyu. I’m fine. Just worry that I’m going to win more hearts than you will,” Sungmin laughs.
“You wish,” Kyuhyun challenges. Sungmin accepts the challenge and the two laugh. It’s been so long since they’ve done that together.
The two of them talk and Kyuhyun frowns as he notices Sungmin’s voice has changed somehow. It’s a little softer and a little deeper. Has he gotten sick? Kyuhyun really wishes he were there to take care of him.
“Apparently it’s time for me to sleep. I love you, Kyuhyun. Get lots of rest and be healthy okay?” Sungmin asks.
“I will,” Kyuhyun promises. That isn’t good enough for Sungmin who makes him swear a solemn oath three times. Kyuhyun loves his hyung.
He’s about to say goodnight when he hears Eunhyuk say, “Want help getting into bed, Sungmin?” The dial tone sounds. And Kyuhyun wonders who said it was time for Sungmin to sleep and what sort of sleep he would be getting.
Kyuhyun doesn’t know what to think. Sungmin swore he would wait. So what is this about Eunhyuk? Kyuhyun wants to kill the guy but doesn’t think Donghae will be very happy with him. What he’d like most of all, is to go back to Korea and see Sungmin. But he has obligations here. And Kyuhyun knows he’ll go crazy.
Then he wakes up one night to find Hankyung (who looks ready to cry himself) comforting a crying Ryeowook. He walks into the living room of their dorm and asks what’s wrong. Hankyung looks at Ryeowook and then at Kyuhyun before saying quietly.
“Ryeowook got some bad news about a friend,” Hankyung says. Kyuhyun nods in sympathy.
“Is it Yesung?” Kyuhyun asks, even though he knows they’re more than just friends. Ryeowook shakes his head.
“It’s another one,” Hankyung supplies.
“It will be okay, Ryeowook. Everything will work out,” Kyuhyun consoles. Ryeowook takes one look at him and cries harder. Kyuhyun doesn’t go back to sleep that night. He stays up trying to comfort Ryeowook.
Two weeks go by and the night of Ryeowook crying about his friend is pushed to the back of everyone’s mind, including Ryeowook himself. There’s just so much to do. And now that they can understand the language, they have to answer more and show themselves as proud Korean singers.
They shuffle from one city to another, making Super Junior proud. Kyuhyun sings so much that it feels like his vocal chords are going to break. He hasn’t called Sungmin in so long. But he doesn’t need to. Because one night, a telephone call changes everything.
“What?” Hankyung gasps, standing up in the middle of their game of cards (maybe it’s for the best, Henry is beating them all at poker). Kyuhyun looks up. He can hear Eeteuk’s sobs through the cell and Kangin’s attempts to calm him.
“Yes! It happened last night!” Eeteuk wails.
“Who’s with Sungmin?” Hankyung demands. Kyuhyun frowns, why would anyone need to be with Sungmin?
“Eunhyuk is with him right now. He hasn’t left his side at all,” Eeteuk sniffles. Kyuhyun freezes. He looks up. Standing up very slowly, Kyuhyun raises himself to his full height, finally fed up and wanting to deal with this. Everyone looks at him.
“What exactly has Eunhyuk been doing beside my boyfriend?” Kyuhyun asks, his tone dangerous. Donghae looks at him in shock and then looks to Siwon who looks equally surprised. Kyuhyun registers neither of them. He glares at Hankyung who realizes that Kyuhyun is looking rather deadly.
“Hankyung, are you there?” Eeteuk asks.
“Yeah and Kyuhyun’s ready to kill Eunhyuk,” Hankyung says urgently, as if to tell Eeteuk something.
“Why is he…? Oh…put him on the line. No, Kangin, it’s time. I’ve kept it long enough. He deserves to know. If he wants to come back, fine. I’ll help him. But he deserves the truth about Sungmin,” Eeteuk states. Kyuhyun’s knees feel weak.
“What is it about Sungmin?” he asks, not wanting to know the answer but at the same time, wanting it.
“Kyuhyun, I don’t really know any other way to say this than to tell it to you straight.”
“What is it? Is he cheating on me? With Eunhyuk?” Kyuhyun feels sick the minute he says it. Was he not good enough? What about Donghae? The fishy immediately begins laughing but then sobers up as he realizes that Kyuhyun was serious.
“No, Sungmin would never leave you. Wait…why would you think that?”
“Every time I talked to him, Eunhyuk was with him!”
“You thought Sungmin was cheating on you?” Eeteuk asks, incredulously.
“Yes…” Kyuhyun replies, uncertain.
“Kyuhyun, Sungmin has cancer. While you were thinking he was cheating on you, Eunhyuk was only taking care of him. When Sungmin started to get worse, he helped him. Sungmin blacked out one night on the floor and Eunhyuk found him, took him to the hospital and they diagnosed a late stage of lung cancer. He told him not to tell anyone.
“He was sick when we said goodbye to you. I told him to tell you of his condition but he couldn’t. He didn’t want to affect your performance. The doctors weren’t sure how serious it was. When Sungmin fainted again, they told us that he should have gone sooner, he should have gotten treatment earlier. They said it was imminent. Nothing could help him now.
“Apparently he was coughing up blood for weeks. But he hid it from us so we wouldn’t worry. Manager-hyung told us to keep him at home and keep him comfortable and surround him with happiness. Eunhyuk moved into the room so he could take care of Sungmin.
“He was with him every single day. He moved Sungmin into your bed so he could feel nearer to you. He let Sungmin call him Kyuhyun so he could imagine you were there. He took him to the hospital when Sungmin collapsed. And now, he hasn’t left him. He’s stayed beside him like a good friend, even when Sungmin vomited blood over him and had a nosebleed that wouldn’t stop,” Eeteuk finishes.
Kyuhyun stood there, “Minnie…has cancer?”
“Yes, Kyuhyun. Sungmin has cancer. Doctors predict that he’ll have at least three weeks left.”
“Thank you for telling me. I’ll see you soon,” Kyuhyun whispers.
“Do you want me to arrange a flight for tomorrow?”
“No. I’m coming home now,” Kyuhyun answers. Then he hung up. He looked around at everyone who was sitting there, staring wide-eyed at him.
“Kyuhyun?” Ryeowook asks softly.
“How many of you knew? How many of you knew and kept it a secret from me?!” Kyuhyun demands. He didn’t care how he sounded. He felt betrayed, disoriented and utterly, utterly guilty that he’s not there with his Sungmin. Everyone looks uncomfortably at each other. Even Zhoumi and Henry look away.
“He didn’t want you to know. He wanted you to focus on becoming famous,” Siwon mumbles. Kyuhyun tilts his head back to stop the falling tears.
“I’m going back to Seoul. I have to. I can’t leave him there alone,” Kyuhyun announces before walking into his room, grabbing his backpack and stuffing a few clothes into the bag. He knew that the others would take care of his things.
He catches a plane to Seoul in the nick of time. Granted, everyone recognizes him now as a singer so it’s easy to talk the people into delaying the plane a little. Kyuhyun allows himself to cry as the plane takes off.
He’s never going to see these people again so why bother hiding it? How could he not have noticed that Sungmin was sick? How could he not have noticed his own boyfriend had cancer for Christ’s sake?
Kyuhyun closes his eyes, bites his lip and prays that Sungmin will pull through like a medical miracle. He steps into the airport in Seoul and looks around. He has all he needs. He walks outside and hails a taxi. His blood is singing in anticipation of seeing Sungmin again.
He walks into Super Junior’s dorm and is met by Yesung who looks no less shocked than Ddangkoma at his arrival. The elder male just looks at him and sighs.
“Sungmin should have told you,” is all he says. Kyuhyun asks where Sungmin is and Yesung tells him he’s in the critical ward at Seoul General Hospital. Kyuhyun fights back the urge to vomit. He makes his way there and finds Sungmin’s room.
He walks in and stops dead. Eunhyuk is sitting there, looking at him and smiling happily at his arrival. He stands up and nods at Kyuhyun before leaving. Sungmin is lying lifelessly on the bed. He’s a lot skinnier than Kyuhyun remembers. There are circles under his eyes and he blinks slowly and looks towards the door.
“Kyuhyun?” Sungmin asks, his voice husky. Apart from the hoarseness, he sounds relatively normal. Kyuhyun’s tears fall fresh as he gazes at Sungmin.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kyuhyun cries. “Why, why, why didn’t you tell me?”
“I didn’t want to affect your performance. You should sing with your best voice and not worry,” Sungmin says, holding Kyuhyun’s hand. Kyuhyun presses his lips to the warm skin. He’s been away too long.
“You idiot…you complete and utter idiot,” Kyuhyun whispers. Sungmin smiles, his eyes gentle.
“I love you too.”
Kyuhyun thanks and apologizes to Eunhyuk for acting the way he did. Eunhyuk brushes off the apologies, saying that if it had been Donghae, he would have done the same thing. Kyuhyun was grateful to Eunhyuk for being a comfort to Sungmin.
Sungmin begins to recover, much to the surprise and amazement of the doctors. He begins to regain strength and tests show there is less cancerous tissue than before. Apparently Kyuhyun is a good medicine. In fact, he gets so much better, he’s allowed to move back into the Super Junior dorm.
Much to his dismay, Kyuhyun finds that he’s being summoned (ordered) back to China to continue with the group. Sungmin doesn’t mind. That’s what he was there for. He feels guilty that he took Kyuhyun away from his performances. He knows they mean a lot to the magnae.
“Do I really have to go? Can’t we send Yesung instead?” Kyuhyun complains. Yesung has no objections.
“It’s the management that does!” Eeteuk says sternly.
So it’s final. Kyuhyun is going back to China where he likes it or not. Sungmin agrees. He thinks that Kyuhyun should be back on stage with all the other members of Super Junior M. He tells Kyuhyun that he’ll be with Super Junior T so there’s no reason for him to stay.
So Kyuhyun is sent back to China, a little apprehensive but settles back into the lifestyle of being in Super Junior M. Sungmin is getting much better and has even performed on stage. Kyuhyun worries, it might be too much in too little time.
He’s right. Sungmin gets sick. The doctors, who predicted (wrongly) that Sungmin would die in three weeks (he’s lived a month and a week already), said that Sungmin would probably be finished by this sickness. His body is still weak for taking on diseases.
Sungmin gets really sick and it takes him almost a week and a half to get better from the little sniffle he caught. Because he has lung cancer, it’s even more dangerous. It was a tough week for Kyuhyun who had to rely on the irregular calls and emails for information on Sungmin’s condition.
They assured the magnae that Sungmin was now fine and he would be working on regaining his strength. Kyuhyun breathed easier, knowing that his Sungmin was okay. There was something comforting about that thought. Kyuhyun loved Sungmin so much that he couldn’t imagine himself without the cheerful, pink-loving male.
Their telephone conversations go on for ages and the two of them rack up high bills. But neither care. As long as Sungmin can hear Kyuhyun’s voice, it doesn’t matter. He would pay any price for Kyuhyun.
Then one night, Super Junior M has a concert. It’s one they’ve been waiting for since forever. Those at home agree to watch it and cheer them on. Sungmin is especially excited for the performance. It’s the first he’s seen with Kyuhyun since he got out of the hospital. Those in Korea promise to call SJM afterwards and discuss the whole thing.
They kill the performance. It’s a knockout. Kyuhyun is still congratulating himself. He reached into his pocket and turned on his cellphone. The screen glowed and showed 0 MISSED CALLS and 0 TEXT MESSAGES.
Kyuhyun frowned. Maybe they were waiting an extra few minutes, thinking that SJM would be at an after party or something. Kyuhyun shrugs and decides to wait for the call.
A few hours later, at one forty in the morning, Kyuhyun’s phone wakes him up. He can’t believe he’s fallen asleep. He pulls the device out and opens it. One text message. Kyuhyun smiles. It was probably Sungmin. Kyuhyun opens the text and scans it.
His screams bring the other members of SJM running. They find his cellphone on the floor, beside Kyuhyun who’s crying a flood of tears. They check the illuminated screen.
At 1:37 pm, our little bunny hopped into forever.
