Because it is Thursday, and thus Smallville/Supernatural/Grey's Anatomy day, I give you a random bit of crossover-crack that I wrote for River:
When the zombies come, Alex is the first one of them to go down. George, poor George, still babbles about it to anyone who will listen. ("But he was--he was so strong and annoyingly lucky and Alex? I would've thought he'd at least outlive me and Meredith." "I fight dirty." "He should have at least outlived me.")
They get by, somehow, and when Izzy hooks up with Dean, the leader of the fighters, none of them are that surprised. It isn't until later, after the zombies are all dead, and they're trying to find some semblance of normalcy ("How do we do normal after I've killed my boyfriend with a scalpel?" Cristina asks. No-one, wisely, tries to reply anything to this.) that Meredith can't help asking, "why do you have a picture of Izzy's--of Denny in your wallet?"
And Dean just looks at her, frowning. "That's my dad."
More to come later, when I see River online and she makes me write more, of course.
