The thought of that boy, of violating that boy that Dean was supposed to protect, no matter what, made him shove Sam out of his bed.

Yeah, this right there?...is *so* how I see Dean. Totally.

Instead, Dean stared at the bruise Sam had caused with his not-so-little hands and felt like he was picking at a scab to see what's inside.

So very very good. Especially the part about Sam not wanting to go to school without Dean.

Favorite lines though: Sam wanted to go, so Dean let him. That's what you were supposed to do, right?

Thank you very much for the feedback. It's maybe silly how much their history, their childhood, appeals to me, but it just *does*.

I liked the theme running all through this, especially the idea that they may be the crash itself. Hard, broken, out-of-control, possibly-destroyed-- this is the pattern of their lives.

He still remembers the look of hurt on Sam's face, so clear even in the relative darkness of the room, before Sam got up and left without saying another word.
I liked this as a possible explanation for why Sam would leave. The idea that Dean brought it on himself, without ever meaning to, helps take a little of the sting out of four years of Sam trying to ignore him.
