Getting 2000 comments on an entry in your personal journal is overrated. Okay, that's a lie, it feels awesome.

i want to know what food you have been eating
Mostly stuff out of cans and pizza. I go to Zaxby's whenever I have a spare eight dollars, but that isn't often, what with my drinking habit.

the weather
It snowed here, that was exciting. Then it melted.

personal random thoughts
Man, I really do wish it would snow again

music you have been digging
I'm having a hard time motivating myself to listen to anything new. I've been listening to a lot of blaxploitation soundtracks and funk records and been searching for the best basslines ever recorded, and on my iPod I listen to the Pooh Sticks a lot.

puppies or kittens you have petted
I went home this weekend to take care of the dogs,

stars you looked at
But I missed the NBA All-Star game.

cars you have driven in
Same one as always

the way classes have been going so far
I'm actually in class right now

the way work has been going so far
Might be getting a job at Smoothie King

good books you have read lately
Just finished Thomas Pynchon's V

bad books you have read lately
I don't read that many books I don't enjoy at least a little bit, because I mainly read stuff people with good taste recommend

people you miss
My dogs, my friends from Savannah, the tender touch of a woman

people you are glad are around
My friends Camille and Michael, who house me more often than I house myself

off-white suits you wished you owned
I'm a black type of guy myself

flowers that you have plucked from local gardens
You're a homo

parks you have taken walks in
There's a park just outside my place here, it's nice

beds you have slept in
Mine back home, my mom's, my dad's, the couch, and the one here in Atlanta

public transportation you wish you did not have to take
The GSU bus from Turner Field to campus

bikes or rollar skates or skateboards that you rides
Riding's for faggots

jumping jacks you do in the morning
And so is fitness

Be well, friend.

Ah, goddamn italic tag. I was so busy worrying about all the bolding I forgot to check it. Oh well.

zaxby's is pretty good as far as chicken tender places go.

but you guys don't have cane's yet. just wait.

Oh God

Oh God

I love chicken. What's this place like?

Reply

being_in_itself February 20 2006, 17:55:31 UTC
it's similar to zaxby's in that all they serve is chicken tenders and fries, but the chicken tenders are way better (though the fries are not as good). they started in baton rouge, and they've got a lot of locations in louisiana and we're about to get one in hattiesburg.

beware. the flash intro is INTENSE.

Do they have buffalo fingers the way Zaxby's does? That's what I'm really into, that and the toast.

Reply

being_in_itself February 20 2006, 18:06:58 UTC
no, no buffalo fingers. they have special "cane's" sauce or something for dipping.

buffalo sauce tastes like spicy ass anyway. they do have toast, though.

Hey screw you, man, I like spicy ass.

How was V?

Very fine, very fine indeed. It was actually pretty much perfect for the way I feel about life right now (that is to say, uninvolved and uncommitted).

I think I'll pick it up tonight over a Gran Habano Corojo #5. Is it obfuscating like DFW?

am i retarded - DFW? msnvwls February 20 2006, 18:56:41 UTC
No, not at all - I thought it was genuinely moving, really.

How was V.? A friend of mine liked it even better than The Crying of Lot 49.

Reply

msnvwls February 22 2006, 04:46:44 UTC
I wouldn't go so far as to say it was better than Lot 49, but it was very, very good. The detachment of the central characters from the world around them was something that was very... real, to me, especially right now. I recommend it very highly.
