very recently it has come to my attention that Pepperdine University has relight their torches and sharpened their scourges to once again take up the holy crusade.

my good friend Clayton Carter (a proud texan/ former hitler youth) has informed me that several of his friends at college have recently recieved notification from Pepperdine authority that they are now under probation and likely more disciplinary trouble, pending the results of a full-fledged hearing when they return to campus. and why you ask? why and how has all this come about? well its actually quite simple...

facebook.

what many kids assumed was an underground, safe haven for the celebration of all things party/college related is no longer safe. Apparently Pepperdine has gone through a portion of current students' profiles and, for those unlucky enough to post pictures from parties, taken the necessary steps to root out those involved and notify them too. A lighter sentence is available for those willing to name names of students in the pictures.

is nothing sacred anymore? i mean, im not a big fan of putting up pitcures of me or my friends bonging a beer or humping a keg (as alex and i know there existed a different monument, no longer with us) so im not at any risk, and thank god, because i didnt want to be on Pepperdines bad side lololz.

if there was any question about whether or not i am happy about leaving there, or if i made the right decision, this seals the deal. i cannot be a part of a place like that. a place that actively hunts for students to get in trouble, students who were just attempting to have a little college fun. some arent even aware those pictures existed, and are now finding out they are on probation. what the hell is that??? can you honestly live somewhere and try to have fun and live your lifestyle while big brother is ardently and diligently searching and watching for your mistakes. can you live somewhere where blacklists are kept, where there are no coincidences?

i cant. and that is why im happy to move on.
