Change is change

Things in Cory's life had been going as he always expected them to for an Immortal. He decided he needed a change in more ways than one. Cory moved out of the Dojo, quietly really and he moved out to his cabin in the woods. There he took up his sword fighting again, meditation and studied more in explosives. Nothing new but his attitude had changed ( Read more... )

Cory looked down at his shirt then back into Ryan's eyes and nodded, "Alright, promise. Swear. I won't tell him. It's not like he talks to me anyway and besides... he probably already knows. Like you, just not admitting or wanting to see it."

There was a flash of anger in his eyes. Something dark crept into them. Something he hadn't tapped into for a long time but had recently been. It was close to the surface in him. "I don't care about the money, Cupcake. I never did. Hell most of it I got I stashed away the rest, I gave away. I have more than enough money. But... Campbell... She would hate me if I did something. If went over and bashed his face in or broke both of his legs... or worse. She lets him come back. She needs to stop that."

Cory knew, if he did something about it, she would indeed hate him. After all it Campbell was the father of her child. Something Cory at times wished he was... but it would never happen. Not for him.

He reached out, running his hands over her hair before he cups her cheek, thumb tenderly wiping the tear away. He then curled his arms around her, pulling her closer to him and hugging her, placing small kisses in her hair, "I'll see what I can do. Why don't we go back to your place and I'll cook you something to eat and we can talk? Da?"

*Ryan nodded. She was tired and stressed out, from everything going on.*

She says he didn't mean to hurt her, that he was freaking out. But he just disappears and shit, Cory. And he may be the baby's dad, but he's never gonna be there all the time, not like a real dad should. Plus look at Lizzie and Sara. They need a dad and Campbell just ignores them. You could be with her, and you guys could be a mom and dad the right way, the way kids need.

*Ryan knew what it was like to grow up without a father, and with a mom who was hardly ever there. She wanted more for her cousins, and a small, lonely part of her hoped that she could be a part of that kind of family, too.*

Okay, let's go to my place and you can cook. You cook, I'll clean, okay?

"Deal," Cory rose up, pulling Ryan with him. He didn't show it much, but what Joel had been doing to Carolina really bothered him. He had seen other families get torn apart, crumble in fact because of actions just like Joel's.

He picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, going to the door, reaching just inside to get his keys. He stopped a moment to spy the mess she made, chuckled then closed the door, shifting her on his shoulder.

"What you feel like having Pookie? In case we need to stop at the store."

*She didn't eat very much anymore. Nothing tasted good, and since Frankie had gotten mad and slapped her around over it, it had only gotten worse.*

I don't know. You know how we dancers are...how about omlettes? I have everything we need for that stuff at the house.

*And she did, too. Cari would buy food for both houses, and Ryan would eat a little, throwing the rest out if it went bad. She giggled as he carried her.* Cory...are we taking my car?

"Omlettes, yes... not just for breakfast any more," He chuckled in walking down the stairs, once the door was locked. Still with her on his shoulder, he shoved his keys in on of the many pockets he had in his trench coat which fluttered behind him as he walked.

"Of course we are taking your car." He smirked in setting her down but not before he smacked her arse.

Do that like you mean it, Cory, baby.

*Ryan got in and fired up the SUV. Driving fast but careful, she heads for her new place.*

I bought a nightclub. None of that mix music, either. Rock and roll.

Cory was not the least bit nervous, after all, he rode with Amanda. He turned his head to her, quirking an eyebrow, "Nightclub, does everyone have to own a nightclub?" He chuckled.

"Gotta love rock n'roll. Nothing like the sound of a Fender cranking out the sounds from a 58' amp." He smirked in reaching over to play with her leg.

ooc: believe it or not, just got this. *kicks LJ*

Hey, I'm sick of this disco dance mix crap. There's no place for real rock and roll anymore.

*Ryan grins at him, driving towards the city.*

This disreputable doctor I know is putting his clinic in the basement. It's pretty cool.

So, anyway, what about you? What trouble have you been getting in, and how would you like to get into some more?

Trouble has been living with me. Pissed off a few drug dealers. You know the usual, low life stuff.

I'd like to see it sometime. As for how I would like to get into trouble... don't you know me by now. *he grins something dark and wicked.*
