"May I ask, why she chosed to stay with her brother? If he was not good to her?" Sabine asked quietly as she looked at Cory, able to feel his pain.

"My name is Sabine, by the way, I think we had never talked before." She introduced herself.

"Family. Because he was family and she felt he needed her," He spoke quietly. "There was always this innocence about her even though she lived through what she did."

"Cory and I think you are correct. We never spoken before. I would remember if I did." Smiles a little.

She smiles back and nods, "It sounds very inocent, to want to stay with someone who hurts you, either inocent, or massoquist... but you would know her better." Sabine said.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Cory," she holds out her hand for him to shake.

"I think we might not have talked before, but I think I saw you not long ago, you were in a train somewhere in Europe? Sitting by a girl with an I-pod? Can that be?"

"She stayed for other reasons," he shrugged. He took her hand but delicately raised it to his lips and kissed it. "I don't think we have chatted either. But gave pause for a moment, "Yes, she was playing a song... I liked. Was that... how did you know?"

Smiling as he kissed her hand, she blushed slightly and slipped it gently, brushing her long fingers over his to slid it again, into the pockets of her leather coat, to warm them up a little.

"Was what?" She asked looking into his eyes, liking the sparkle in them.

"I saw you, I was on the same train," she explained, "you looked... consterned... and sad, thoughtful, as if you wouldn´t really be there. I think, that is why it was so hard to keep my eyes off you, I couldn´t help wondering what was going through your mind, to make you look so ... alone." She said quietly cocking her head slightly to the side, having determinally not wanted to read this man´s mind.

"Look, I was going to this place, for a couple of drinks to warm up a little, would you like to come?"

Cory shook his head and looked out past her, remembering that train ride. "I was sad. I had broken someone's heart and my own. But it was for the best. It worked out well in the end." For her at least.

"Sure." He offered his arm.

"It did?" She asked and smiled when he offered his arm -a gentlelman,- she thought inwardly with a private smile there had been a long time someone offered her his arm to walk, wrapping her own on his, she started leading the way. She was taking him to a pub where humans, vampires and other kind of immortal people met, but no one who knew what to look for, would ever notice... It was a comfortable place, she always enjoyed the privacy of it and there was no danger for Cory either.

"It is a pitty, that sometimes we have to let go those we love... Because that will be the only way for them to be happy." She said softly. "It is hard, but you can love someone to death, and the best you can do, is letting them go..."

Cory was looking down at the ground. Hearing it from someone else still did not ease the pain. But at least she sort of understood. Just not the reason he did it. Being Immortal, he found you often had to give up what you held precious.

"People don't understand. Or want to accept the reasons. But I put that in the past now. She moved one. She's married now. Happy too."

"That is good for her," she said squeezing his arm a little. "What about you?" She asked quietly trying to read him, until one of his thoughts reached her mind and she looked at the man walking next to her again, he wasn´t a vampire... what was he?

"If you were immortal... that would be one of the greatest challenges you would have to deal with, let some of those you love behind... right for that very reason, because you love them and care for them."

Cory didn't pause or alter his stride. The question she asked a little shocker but he wasn't showing it. "Ohhh, I would say that. Forcing yourself to give them the biggest heartache they will ever experience now so it won't happen later. And I would think holding a job or something."

"Why'd you ask?"

"It must be hard, yes..." She said looking ahead. "Heartache will strike you, either you are human or not. But for immortal beens, it is something that never ends. So we suffer heartaches over and over, until the point of not wanting to get involved not to have to go through them..." She looked at him.

"You are not mortal," she said pointedly. "I can sense it... you were also shocked by my question..." She said quietly, hoping she wasn´t scaring him.

"Could you blame anyone," He shrug neither confirming or denying he was immortal, letting that fall. He has already made to many mistakes in his life. It was time he slowed down.

Sabine smiled softly and shocked her head slowly. "You are avoiding my question," she said letting Cory know she had noticed and looked ahead again.

"But you don´t have to answer it," she assured able to sense he was not mortal. Hopefully, she will get to know him enough as to find out what he was... He looked like someone she would be interested to know better. Besides, she couldn´t quite help herself as to try find out... Would she sense it in a differnt way if he was like her? Yes... she probably would...

"Here we are," she said pointing to the entrance of the pub in the corner of the dark alley. "It looks better from the inside, I promisse" she assured knowing the surroundings looked more than dark and threatening.

Cory walked in, just glancing around. He shrugged, "I've been in worse." He walked over, finding a table and taking a seat. He drew a breath looking around, "I'll take a Malt Scotch."

Nodding, Sabine left her coat on the table, revealing a tight black shirt with a nice cleavage that showed her pale skin, and a single chain with a strange pendant and a black skirt with high heeled black boots up to her knee. "I will be right back," she said and headed to the bar to order for them and getting back.

She handed Cory his drink, and she held her own dark gobblet to her hand before she had a sop of it. "I like it here." She commented. "And it sure is better when I have some company with me." She smiled at Cory.

OOC: I will be with out a PC for a couple of weeks, or perhaps three, so will pick up the thread whenever I get back :o)

Cory watched as Sabine walked away then turned his attention to the crowd around them. He leaned back, drinking in the atmosphere for a while before she came back. He reached over, taking his drink.

He took a sip of his drink, "It's got atmosphere," he gave a little shrug. "But of course, any bar would be much better with company," he winked with a smile then took another drink.
