Obligatory Spring Post.
What a nice day. It has been three days since we added any heat to the house (other than B making granola this morning). It was down to 61° inside this morning. I was thinking a fire would be required today. But then it got nice. Very nice. Sunny almost 60° nice. The neighbors were burning the branches from the hemlock that took out there power back in the wind storm we had last week. I wandered down to the garden where B was getting ready to put the ashes on it. Usually we do this about this time, to add the melting of the snow, and give the garden a head start on thawing out. Nope, it has been clear for a while, and is already thawed, and ready to be worked. Check the label on the peas. "Plant as soon as the ground can be worked". Oookay. So, I got the low wheel tiller, and the rake, and worked the soil. B planted the peas. We covered them with a solar cone (like a clouche). We shall see what we reap. yeah, snow peas.
