Obscuring the Real Threat

Mar 28, 2008 12:49

It’s good that there are people like my friend Litch around, or I would miss news stories like this.

It looks like the book reviewers over at the New York Times are in league with the robots who will conquer us all. In an effort to hide the very real threat of mechanical annihilation, they are picking and choosing carefully what books to review. Instead of something potentially helpful, like Daniel H. Wilson’s How to Build a Robot Army: Tips on Defending Planet Earth Against Alien Invaders, Ninjas, and Zombies
, they’re blinding us with reviews of books involving Chinese conspiracies. Now, I ordinarily wouldn’t be suggesting books about actually building robots, nor do I completely trust a man like Dr. Wilson, whose PhD is in robotics. But he did also write How To Survive a Robot Uprising: Tips on Defending Yourself Against the Coming Rebellion
, so it’s entirely possible that he’s taking “know thy enemy” very seriously indeed. The real problem here, though, is that the reviewers at the Times are clearly trying to distract us from our impending doom.

Something must be done about this.
