Warnings: Fairly fluffy but not nearly as flufftastic as the last one though
Notes: Told by Saber, Charles’ house-wolf.   Documenting a typical day spent in Charles’ company.

Comments and pointers welcome!  Please…

The routine of the haus has come easily or more specifically Charles’ routine has come easily to me.  The man runs like clockwork.  He seems to keep to a fairly regular schedule.

Up at 4:15, Check on Boys.  This seems to mostly involve making sure that the band has pulses and aren’t going to drown themselves in their own fluids.  Pickles always has to be turned on his side, Toki has to have his deddy bear tucked back in with him, checking for blood vomit from Nathan, making sure Murderface hasn’t inflicted serious wound on himself, and checking the “ladies” that are spending the night with Skwisgaar.

4:45 Working Out:  This is something that I simply don’t understand.  Some days Charles plays with swords, some days he lifts heavy things, and other days he does something called “sparring.”  The first time he sparred with one of the hoods I didn’t understand what was going on and he has since had to find a new sparring partner.  He was less than pleased; I haven’t made that mistake again.

5:55 Shower and Breakfast:  I love breakfast.  I usually am given eggs and deer.  If I’m in for a treat then I get to have bacon or ham!  Charles showers, not me.

6:30 Work Starts:  Charles goes to his office and starts what he calls work.  From what I can tell he talks on the phone, writes stuff down and types in his computer.  In the early morning he does “overseas calls” which means I can’t make noise.  I find this is an excellent time to take a nap by the fireplace.

10:00 Klokateer Meeting:  Lots of the hooded people come into Charles’ office and Charles gives them directions for the day.  I make it a point to growl and bare my teeth at any of them Charles seems to be displeased with.  Reputations must be upheld.

10:30 Charles’ Naptime:  Charles goes back to his room and takes a nap.  I like to go outside and patrol now.  It is fascinating what goes on in this household that seems to be unseen.  The hooded people are everywhere!  Some of them try to get me to come over to them, they are ignored.  I will decide who I pay attention to.  The other wolves are jealous, their eyes betray them.  I’m really not sure how I came to be a house wolf but I am aware it is a very great honor, especially as I seem to be the only one.

12:00 Lunchtime:  The band is usually awake by now and they eat or sit hung over with Charles. This is not one of my meal times but I can count on the boys to sneak me something to eat.  Hot dogs, great!  Pickled herring sandwich, not so much.

13:15 Back to Work:  More phone conversations, more computer work, more writing things down, and more napping for me.  Sometimes Charles has visitors, when that happens I sit by his desk and glare at the visitor.  They won’t get away with anything should they try it.  Just need to make sure I make that absolutely clear.  The boys come in and talk to Charles often during the afternoon, I let them pass.  They are the band after all, and Charles protects them which means I protect them too.   Every once in a while Charles leaves the haus for a few hours to go to meetings.  I wish he would take me with him, but he never does.

16:00 Weekly Band Meeting:  We don’t do these every day, thank goodness.  I have yet to figure out what the point of these things is.  The band gets drunk and unruly and then just insults Charles.  Charles just takes it, I have no idea why.   I’d like to teach them some respect, but if Charles can show restraint then so can I.

18:00 Dinner:  Dinner is never as yummy as breakfast.  I get ground meat with vitamins in it; it’s the same thing all of the wolves get.  Sometimes I eat it, sometimes I don’t.  I have my own food procurement methods.  Sometimes a few members of the band are there, but not always.  They seem to have their own feeding schedules; and menus.

19:30 Evening Work:   More of the same kind of stuff as earlier in the day but somehow more casual than before.  He often turns on music and has a drink on his desk.  He usually either loosens or even takes off his tie.  That is yet another thing I don’t get about humans, why do they leash themselves?  Anyway, evening time is usually just for paperwork and computer work, no phone calls or meetings.  I love watching Charles work in the evenings; I’m too restless to nap at that point, the forest calls me, but I can’t go just yet.

22:30 Nightly Slow Motion Fighting Dancing Thing:  I have no idea what this is, I’ve seen fighting and it looks similar but really slow, like dancing, almost.  Charles says it’s martial arts, whatever that means, I say it is odd.  He doesn’t even take off the suit, or leave the office!  He just takes off his jacket, tie, and shoes and slow fights around the room.  He usually succeeds in avoiding the furniture but I’ve seen him break a couple of lamps doing this.  After he breaks a lamp he’ll shrug and say IKEA.  I guess IKEA is an expletive?

23:15 Final Check:  We go to the “Command Center” and check on the band via video camera, these five are just plain odd, they really are cubs in adult form.   Charles cares for them, I guess, almost as if he was their sire, but I don’t think they are related by blood.  They still seem to be a pack though.

00:00 Charles Goes to Bed:  He retires to his room.  I don’t join him; I don’t think I am welcome in there at this point.  This is my time to prowl though; I’m not sure how I would feel if I stayed with him all night.  Some nights I run the forests and hunt. But sometimes things don’t feel quite right and on those nights I stay in and prowl the house.

2:00ish I Check the Boys:  They seem to be really important to Charles, and are therefore, really important to me.  Sometimes they are up still, sometimes they are asleep.  I try to be inconspicuous so they don’t notice me if they are awake.  But, if they are asleep, I nudge Pickles onto his side, and find Toki’s deddy bear and put it back in bed with him, I listen for Murderface’s snoring, and make sure I don’t smell blood and vomit coming from Nathan’s room.  Skwisgaar is always still awake, but I listen to his door as well, make sure he’s okay.  Then I resume the prowl.

4:00 Back to Charles’ Office:  He gets up soon and then our day will begin again.
