1. So, this morning, I took my 19 year old cat (and companion of almost 18 years) to the vet to be euthanized. She had a liver tumour, a lot of fluid effusion in her abdomen, and at least a few metastases. In fact, by today she was skin and bone ... and an absurdly distended abdomen. The last few days she'd spent almost the entire time sleeping in the litter box, of all places, and her breathing was wheezy and ... wet. I think the effusion was probably in her chest too. And at least last night and this morning, she seemed to be having difficulty swallowing; I saw her trying to drink water and getting a lot of foamy, gooey saliva in the process.
So yeah. She was miserable, these last few days. It was time.
Goodbye, old girl. It's been a long road together. May Hela take you gently in her arms.
2. So, I did some visual art. Well, "art." Basically tracings of some photos of a friend of mine, (and some other details) then coloured in crayon. Marvel Loki cosplayer --> Myth Loki. Because I felt like it.
I'm not posting it anywhere just yet, because I kinda didn't ask her before doing this little art project, and I want to check with her that she's not weirded out before I put it up anywhere. Not that they're exactly masterpieces, but you know.
