Purcell Rd

I finally went all the way to Purcell Rd on the Badger State Trail bike route that heads southbound out of Madison.  Purcell marks the end of the 'new' paved section and the beginning of the older crushed-limestone portion of the trail and roughly the half-way mark between Madison and the next major town Belleville.  I'm thinking if I want to do any significantly longer bike rides I'm going to have to get myself a different style of bicycle.  Nonetheless a hybrid bike is pretty good for tooling around the mixed terrain of the city.  If I got a fancier bike I'd limit riding it to the trails.
