Leatherette sources
Hi everyone,
I'm on the hunt for a quality lightweight leatherette for a few upcoming projects, including a corset or two, and I was hoping someone might have recommendations for stockists who ship to Europe.
A local fabric shop here in Dublin, Ireland used to stock a gorgeous leatherette with a soft beige cotton-like backing - lightweight but not thin, wonderfully supple, with no stretch and a beautiful drape, retailing for around €20/m.
Unfortunately they no longer stock it, and the only leatherette I've been able to find since is thicker and stiffer, with a nasty plasticky woven backing that feels awful against the skin.
That original fabric was a joy to work with and I'm still searching for it or something just like it! If anyone has any sources to share, I would be very grateful.
