Spring is here!
Well it seems like I have been bitten by the bug and I am getting on my yearly "clean-up-a-thon"
While cleaning up some items and seeing some LJ posts over at other communities it inspired and idea...
I have a serious fabric collection that needs a new home, fellow fabri-holics... please enter.
I used to work for a fabric jobber back in the day and scored many a deal on designer fabrics. Read: an entire 8'X8' room houses them.
There is leather, satin, muslin, pvc, brocade, bridal satin, stretch velvet, polar fleece, wool, ...you name it! Fabrics came from sources like DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Betsey Johnson and Italian mills <---------This is just a general list of course.
I need to start afresh for spring; it's a whole process I am trying to stick by. So in that thought I will be traveling back home to NH this weekend (where said treasure trove resides) and I will be sorting and selling most of my stash. It's "out of sight, out of mind" being so far away from my NYC home and it's not doing anyone any good being stored up there. So, without further ado...
Would anyone be interested if I were to post yardage/individual cuts on my LJ? I am generally a multiple yard purchaser so they are rather large pieces. After all, what can you make out of a yard besides a corset and frilly undies ; ) Depending on the cuts I am sure that I could split up the yardage is someone so chooses. More than likely this would be apparel weight fabric, some garment and handbag leather (from the old coach tannery no less!) and some home dec.
If you think you might be at all interested please comment. If enough people are interested or know of other communities that might have the same affinity for delicious threads as we do please let me know. I will base my "truck carting space" on replies and suggestions.
eta: Once I see what I have I can set prices, but they are going to be "squee" inducing guaranteed. You're looking for high quality fabric and I am looking for clear studio space, win-win! Also, to those international folks- I HAVE NO PROBLEM SHIPPING and I have been told that I am a master packer by more than one person. : )
eta2: I will be posting photos Sat and Sun, I will send out the message once I have them up and running!
