I couldn't help but notice adverts for
this website pop up repeatedly on Facebook? What do you guys think? Do any of you know the person who wrote it?
Perhaps it's just me being suspicious and silly, but come on! It did show up in a Facebook ad... I can't help but wonder if it's another one of those scammy "Lose 3kg a week!111!!!!" sites, except

...and what exactly are you suspicious of about the site? If it's whether corsets and tight-lacing change the figure structure - Damn right they do!

Of course! If I doubted that, I wouldn't be here.
Like I stated in the post, the site seems to have the air of a scam site. Average layout, overly lengthy site introduction, a massive emphasis on buying the book, no gallery of her own work. It seems a little off, and I figure that if I can bring it to people's attention, maybe someone might avoid getting sucked in. If I'm wrong, well, good for me!
What's wrong with Facebook ads? I got my paintball tournaments advertised there sometimes!
Yes, there are a good deal of useful and valid FB ads, but unfortunately there's a good deal more that are not. On my pages, at least, it's full of sign ups, pages that lead to nowhere and bloody mafia wars.

But, according to what triggered your suspicion too many sites can well fall under that category! Ya probably have an awesome superpower or something, but I have to admit the actual picture of the book and the cover of the book got me to raise an eyebrow.
P.S. Mafia Wars are real! XD

sheesh. there are a few examples of corsets she's made on the site, and i've got to say I'm not even remotely impressed. http://corsettraining.net/category/make-a-corset looks like she's making a 4-panel corset as her standard, and while elsewhere she does say the stripey one is her first, it's not worth basing a business on.

The comments and information look like they have been lifted and trimmed from other sites. I would hesitate to buy the book without seeing it and having a good read first. The picture of it looks like it was drawn in Visio or something: not a photo of the book at all, and no sample pages. Not encouraging, and a rather steep price from a newbie and complete unknown.
Maybe not a scam, but an over-ambitious launch by someone with less corset making experience than even my minimal lot.

Corsets are not usually tied at the top, (bunny ears at the waist are the way to get good shape) it doesn't look like it has boning either side of the grommets and is not cinched in on the model.
This link is one of my corsets (I've not made many and although an experienced seamstress I wouldn't write a book on it, there are plenty of good ones out there)
