fun fridays
lately, friday nights have ruled. this friday for instance, i saw an awesome show at knitting factory: del the funkee homosapien, mike relm (swoon), and motion man. we couldn't get anyone to go and almost didn't go ourselves, but decided last minute we may as well go. glad we did, because we had the best time. it was a party in there, i like that venue. plenty of dancing room, good energy, del was rad. he did so much old shit, that made me happy. and mike relm, omg. i wish i had taken a pic of him but was too busy dancing.
last friday, mike, tim and i were in Bill Maher's audience! That was fun, we love him, and it was a good lively episode what with sandy rios the psycho right wing religious nut being on the panel. reza aslan (swoon) was there as well, but barely got a word in edgewise what with rios and bradley whitford sitting next to him.
the friday before was dan's birthday and he had a rager at his house, that was a good time.. and the friday before that was aud's show at thinkspace. the installation she had set up in the whole front window of the gallery was amazing! i'm currently helping her re-do her website, so thats pretty exciting.
and next friday, my mom is coming to visit! she hasn't seen a lot of the progress we have made on the house, so hopefully she will be pleasantly surprised! we've finished all the major construction stuff so now we've switched our focus to smaller interior projects. Mike is taking a furniture making class and plans to build us a platform bed as his final project. that will be cool but we're not quite there yet. in the meantime he is building us a little console stand for our new den, which will hold the components that accompany the plasma hd screen he got... ah, boys and their toys. the shelf thing is coming along great, he is actually cementing strips of veneer onto it as we speak. earlier today we got a pretty kick-ass surround sound system for a great price off craigslist from some long beach dude - can't wait to set up our home theater which we will be paying off for the next 18 months.
meanwhile it is now october, my favorite month of the year! the next friday after that i am going to a haunted mansion/theater thing with somakitty.
