I am not feeling very academia today so not only am I not writing this in MS word, I am going to write like I speak. Also if you are sensitive about race relations you might want to keep in pushin. This is like an open latter
Oh yeah before I begin. I will frequently use the term Black instead of African-American. (1) It's a conundrum (I know I said I would write like I think, but I happen to like that word) in (2) I'm Black and I HATE, HATE, HATE when people call me African-American (3) It's to freakin long to keep writing and (4) This is my blog and if I don't want to be PC I can do that.
Dear Black People,
So as everybody may know I am the PROMOTER of Tiana (I should alert Disney and make them pay for my hard work) Tiana is my wallpaper on my computer, the wallpaper on my phone and I am constantly just throwing her existence into conversations at random.
Now here is my fuckin' problem: Black people you are getting on my nerves about her. I feel like I am defending a sister
When she was just a concept drawing in 2006, Disney received backlash because(1)She had a slave name(Maddy), she was chambermaid (so was cinderella riiighttt),(3) The movie was named The Frog Princess. Ok I do see all sorts of wrong with that but I am not here to agree with the critics. I am here to be the Devil's Advocate.
The movie is set in New Orleans during the 1920's. Tell me how many Black folks were really rolling in the money then? Unless they were Creole, and trying to pass they were getting paid next to nothin for menial labors. Ya'll are so quick to cry foul when not represented in history, but then get pissed when historians display an accurate depiction. Make your mind up damnit.
Now for Prince Naveem. He is from Brazil. Ya'll are bitchin because he is not "Black".
First thing first you ignorant ass bastards you go sit in the corner, with a dunce cap, with your last president. Because both of you are so mentally myopic that you can't see that BRAZIL IS AFRO-CARRIBEAN. In other words it was built on the backs of Africans just like America. Who do you think was picking that sugar cane? Sure wasn't a French man.
Second who is a Black man? Who defines this shit? If he woulda have been made Black you woulda bitched because he didn't have a Ceaser cut with the Deep Waves...They modeled Princess Tiana from a positive role model. What Black famous man do you know, that is between the ages of 18-40, that is a positive role model for today's youth? Don't worry I'll wait.
Third, your bitchin because now they are a interacial couple. Will all my beautiful motha fuckin' products of a interacial couple stand up!!!! (shots out and up to my honey lamb's
hmrpotter ,
momentai , and my Daddy) Are we serious people? Let me give you a little secret.... *says in spy voice* President Obama is mixed. Ya'll made him Black thanx, that is what you get, just looking at a books cover.
Last but not least, let's rain down upon the Disney company about how racist they are. First ask yourself have you ever seen a Disney movie in your life? Don't even give me the SEOD, every Black person I know OWNS a copy of the The LION KING, bootleg or legal. If you do you have already fed into the Disney Machine. Aright ya'll can go sit down.
Now the rest of ya'll....you say Disney is racist. Think about it Disney died over 43 years ago (yeah I looked that shit up, get off my ass) Racism is not only learned it's taught. Don't you think he spewed his racist rhetoric to his heirs and employees? Lord knows when the first Black (or ethnic person) got into the Disney creative process. So don't you think it's mighty hard to convince a room full of white men that you need a Arabic, Chinese, American Indian, and Black princess. I am sure that is a heavy cross to bear. And all you ungrateful bastards can bleat is that she is token. Umm refer to last sentence, you can't be token if other ethnic people have been introduced into the mix!
In the end it's ya'll asses being racist! You don't want anything but Black. Hello!!! Wake the hell up in the next 40 years it's going to be hard to find someone who is just "Black" and I'm sure if you had an intelligent thought floating around your head, you would know that almost all people who refer to theirselves as African-American have a 1/4 bit of White in them. Hell I do, my paternal Grand-Mother is Mafia Italian.
In the end Love Muffins get into this. She is American, that's all that really matters. But if you want to fly her ethnic flag, please hoist the colors! But quit bitchin about something you had no ambitions to do yourself. If it bothers you so bad, build your own media empire and put out your own version of what a Black princess should be.
Get over yourselves,
Chantis (yeah I signed with my real name)
P.S. Where is ya'll media superhero Tyler Perry? Enough said!
