The Tiana Controversy
I am not feeling very academia today so not only am I not writing this in MS word, I am going to write like I speak. Also if you are sensitive about race relations you might want to keep in pushin. This is like an open latter
Oh yeah before I begin. I will frequently use the term Black instead of African-American. (1) It's a conundrum (I know I said I would write like I think, but I happen to like that word) in (2) I'm Black and I HATE, HATE, HATE when people call me African-American (3) It's to freakin long to keep writing and (4) This is my blog and if I don't want to be PC I can do that.

So as everybody may know I am the PROMOTER of Tiana (I should alert Disney and make them pay for my hard work) Tiana is my wallpaper on my computer, the wallpaper on my phone and I am constantly just throwing her existence into conversations at random.

When she was just a concept drawing in 2006, Disney received backlash because(1)She had a slave name(Maddy), she was chambermaid (so was cinderella riiighttt),(3) The movie was named The Frog Princess. Ok I do see all sorts of wrong with that but I am not here to agree with the critics. I am here to be the Devil's Advocate.
The movie is set in New Orleans during the 1920's. Tell me how many Black folks were really rolling in the money then? Unless they were Creole, and trying to pass they were getting paid next to nothin for menial labors. Ya'll are so quick to cry foul when not represented in history, but then get pissed when historians display an accurate depiction. Make your mind up damnit.
Now for Prince Naveem. He is from Brazil. Ya'll are bitchin because he is not "Black".

So don't you think it's mighty hard to convince a room full of white men that you need a Arabic, Chinese, American Indian, and Black princess. I am sure that is a heavy cross to bear.
