A little while ago, Rex came home with his new car--my grandma gave him her old cadallac, since she has trouble getting into it, what with her bad knees and all. It's a good car--leather seats, a good stereo system, and, most of all, AIR CONDITIONING!!!
Anyhow, Rex and I went for a spin around the block in it, and as we were pulling back into the cul-de-sac, we passed a man on the corner who looked like a tourist--visor, shorts, a fanny pack. He just didn't look like he lived here, and he was looking around and writing on something. Having just marathoned, like, twenty episodes of Death Note in the last twenty four hours, I told Rex that it was the writing that didn't sit well with me, and that he was possibly the lamest Kira ever.
So, we go inside and no sooner had I gone to the freezer and gotten a popcicle, than the Fanny Pack Kira is at the door (Note to self: Fanny Pack Kira is possibly the best name for a Rock Band. Even better if band plays mostly in England). He was tall and blonde, and really quite handsome--and, also, he was European. He didn't say where he was from, specifically, but he was young and European and hot. So I stepped outside to talk to him, and he said he was... European. And... jeez, I don't even really know--it was a mixture of his accent and how gosh-darn pretty he was that I didn't really catch what he was saying.
He was he was a student, I think--he had an ID badge around his neck that I, not having my glasses on, couldn't read--and he said that he was looking for children. Only, it sounded far less suspecious coming out of him. He asked me if there were children in the house, and I said only college-age. Then he asked me where on the street he might find children. Once again, it was less suspect in his dashing accent--maybe Russian. I want to say he was Russian. I should've asked...
Anyway, I told him that I saw lots of kids at a specific house across the street, and then I apologized for being new in the neighbourhood and not knowing more about where he could find children. At some point during this, Rex had emerged from the house. So, the pretty Fanny Pack Kira thanked me--my heart fluttered at that--and he picked up his bag full of files (possibly about where to find the best children, or maybe they were spare Death Notes; I dunno) and he went across the street, while Rex and I went back inside with Yuri.
Rex said, after I told him that Fanny Pack Kira was a European student of some sort, that his name tag looked like it said "Mindslave". So, yeah... I'm hoping that he was just some sort of Foreign Exchange student, looking for a host family; though, it seems like that's the sort of thing you'd find before comeing to America, and he looked like he was college age, anyway, he did mention something about Pittman High School, specifically. Other wise, the only real options for what he could have been were "pedophile" and "pawn in some sort of sinister European plot."
...but, man, I hope that I see him again. I was so sad when he left the door stoop to go seek-out small children.
