... HEAVY SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST THURSDAY...

A STORM TOTAL OF 8 TO 12 INCHES IS EXPECTED ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM AROUND DIXON TO DEKALB TO ST CHARLES TO EVANSTON. 6 TO 8 INCHES IS EXPECTED ACROSS DUPAGE AND COOK COUNTIES.

PERIODS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL OCCUR OFF AND ON THROUGH EARLY EVENING WITH A PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW FROM ABOUT 800 PM TO 200 AM. SNOW WILL TAPER OFF TO LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS AFTER 200 AM.

NORTHEAST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL CAUSE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

ANY TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.
