[To think it was just a regular day.

Sheena stumbles her way around from the back of house 18. One arm is braced against the outside wall of the house, the other useless. It's a slow, staggering kind of walk. When she runs out of house, she manages to move just a few more feet, into the road, before crashing to the ground again. Mercifully, her ( Read more... )

[...That voice. A pit of dread just twists inside Jennifer. She recognizes that choking sound of pain. And even worse, she recognizes that voice.]

Sheena.

[and she does choke a little bit when she places Jennifer's voice. But there's no way of convincing anyone that she'll be okay on her own, this time.]

Y-yeah?

[She's already backing up, grasping blindly behind her for the doorknob. She doesn't know what she can do, if anything, but she had to do something.]

...W-where are you?

[...God, she sounds so weak.]

The...I think the clinic.

[really she doesn't know. It's easier to keep her eyes shut.]

...I-I'll come. See you, I mean.

[And maybe that's a terrible idea, but it's the only idea she has right now.]

[it's not a terrible idea! But whether Jennifer gets there before or after Raine and Zelos have worked their magic will make all the difference]

[We will say she does in order to cut down on trauma. D:]

[that's probably better for her. Sheena won't look as broken this way.

She will be half-asleep though.]

[Well, when she gets directed to Sheena's room, she will gently knock on the door, just in case.

...It takes her longer than it would. She brought you something. :(]

[The knock is quiet, but still enough that she stirs and tries to focus on the door. The lights are dimmed in the room but not off, so at least she can sort of see what's around]

Someone there? [most people have just come right in, no matter what state she was in at the time.]

[She's too demure to just barge in.]

...It's Jennifer.

[oh boy. Hopefully she's not too freaked out]

It's open.

[Moment of truth. Jennifer takes the doorknob and swings it open, looking nervously inside. What is the damage.]

[Well, with the lights only at about 30% there's not much to see. But for the most part Sheena just looks pale and tired, with a few lingering bandages on her smaller cuts, and her right arm just wrapped - no longer splinted, since Raine did heal it - to help her take it easy with that for a few days.

And she manages a smile when Jennifer opens the door.]

I'm not that scary, am I?

[...Well. That's not as bad as Jennifer was preparing herself for. But still, it's Sheena hurt and the idea of someone doing this to her makes her eyes well up.

...There is also an uncomfortable, stabbing feeling right at her heart, and if Jennifer had the mind now to analyze it, she would have recognized it as anger.

Instead she just attempts a watery smile and walks to Sheena's bedside, setting down a bundle of roses.]

...No.

[It was much worse before. It's probably good she took the time to do other things before visiting.

On the little table next to Sheena's bed is a pitcher and glass of water. They seem to think she's doing well enough (and has enough visitors) to keep drinking it on her own. But it could also be a convenient vase, as long as Jennifer found another glass somewhere before she left. Either way, Sheena sees the flowers and gives another tired smile, nodding to the nearby chair]

I'm gonna be okay.
