I've really gotta get back to training, so I'm looking to spar with a couple people. Anyone interested? I promise I'll go easy on you.

The more I think about it, if we're gonna keep getting involved in the war out there we've gotta be ready, and most practice dummies don't fight back.

Ain't practice if it's not against a moving target.

I'm ready anytime. Got any place in mind? [She definitely doesn't have anything better to do around here.]

I know a pretty good spot in the woods near the big lake.

Got it. I'll be there.

[When she gets there it will look like Sheena is not there yet]

[Baiken's no stranger to that technique. When she arrives, she gives a brief look around and rolls her eye. Ninja. It's like Chipp all over again, only she's sure this one can actually keep quiet and be stealthy.

She can't see the girl, but she can certainly sense her. So Baiken cracks her neck idly, looking for all the world like her guard is down. Which it isn't.]

I know you're there, kid. Come on out.

[the tall weeds closest to the lake appear to be moving. Inadvertently. ...As inadvertent as weeds can be.]

[Action]

[Well, alright, then. That lone eye flicks over to the weeds and Baiken is off like a shot, charging in, hand on her katana hilt and ready to draw at a moment's notice. This is bound to be a fakeout, she's sure, so she has her guard up for an attack from any side.]

[Hmm, guess it was only the wind. But if she's really paying attention she should catch a human-sized movement in the trees opposite that area]

[Bingo. She slides to a halt on one foot, turning just enough to fling a chain that was hidden up her right sleeve out in that direction. If her calculations are right and the girl is headed in this specific direction, it'll be a good lasso.

If not, well, she can improvise.]

[congratulations! You have lasso'd a dummy made out of a tree branch. Sheena attacks from above and to your left with a line of thrown cards meant to circle around you and keep you there]

[Baiken reels it back and slashes clear through the tree branch, but looks up into her blind spot just a shade too late to notice the cards. Aw, hell.

But she has a counter for that! There's a poof and a short shower of cherry blossom petals and, suddenly, a small anchor is flung out of the right sleeve, bounces up off the ground, and flies right for Sheena's chin.]

[Oh damn.

Well, at least the card ring should hold her for a bit. Sheena dodges fast enough not to get completely knocked out, but the anchor is coming hard and fast enough to knock her off her perch. Thankfully she has lots of practice at safe landings]

[Baiken is quickly finding that she's not going anywhere as well. An earth bind. Just great. She hates these types of things.

But still. Credit where it's due.] ...Not a bad start, kid.

[have a run in and attack. And she'll release you so you can defend yourself, since this is a spar and not a boss fight or anything]
