Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior

I know a lot of people on my flist watch and love Criminal Minds but by the time people started talking about, it was three seasons in and I just didn't feel like jumping into the middle of a show.

And the chances of my finding time to watch the previous seasons are right up there with pigs with wings.

But I saw that there was a spin-off, Suspect Behavior, and it co-stars Janeane Garafola. I adore her acting. I know, she's a bit wacky and angry in real life but I loved her in the worst/best date every scene in that really forgettable movie where Randy Quaid was also good. And Garafola was also good in the final season of The West Wing.

The rest of the actors looked great, too. Excellent cast. I mean, Forest Whitaker!

So I dived in last week with the pilot. I wasn't too impressed. I didn't hate it but it didn't give me anything new or make me invest in any of the characters either.

This week, I tried again.

And it started from a serial killer's POV. I tried to stick with it but...gah. That's my pet peeve, mysteries/thrillers from the serial killer's point of view. I just do not want to experience a story from that perspective. I kept watching and I guessed that the ending was that the killer was two personalities. Dunno if that's what it ended up being but I saw the woman playing with wigs when I flipped to the channel again.

For those who watch the original recipe, is this common? I was guessing maybe this emphasis on serial killer POV was pulled from the original so the two series are alike but maybe I'm wrong.

In any case, this is one cop show I will not be watching. I didn't think the writing that strong, none of the characters had a chance to do anything interesting while I was watching,

cop shows, criminal minds: suspect behavior, television
