So I'm off to the Romance Writers of America annual national conference waay too early tomr morning. The flight is 6 a.m. I booked so early because 1. it was nonstop and 2. it was early enough in the morning that no daily crisis would cause me to miss the flight. (Translation: the minions will be asleep when I sneak out of the house.)
I'll touch down in Orlando, if all goes well, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and off to the hotel, then off to Disney World because I figure my room won't be ready that early and i might as well use the time to ride the Tower of Terror.
But that means a 4 a.m. or so wake-up call. I expect to sleep on the flight. :)
I've been spending the last two days getting ready. Yes, I've been making sure I have the right shoes. I'm not ga-ga for shoes but with casual, business, and fancy dress events, I had to bring at least 3 pairs. And then I added moccasins for a pajama party thing.
I packed this year by outfit, instead of pants, shirts and underwear. I think that will work better. Mostly, though, the problem is remembering the logistical stuff. The cell phone charger. The business cards. Dinah of Seneca copies for the literary signing on Wednesday. Various promo materials, flight information, hotel information, taxi information, etc.
Though I am brining a laptop this year. That's a first for me, so I'll be internet connected. Still, I printed out all the important documents just in case.
Hopefully, I'll have time to blog or tweet. If you're interested in the conference, the twitter hashtag is #rwa10
And if you're in the Orlando area, come by the
RWA Literacy signing on Wednesday night. :)
