This first week of school was a killer, and it wasn't even a full week. I don't know what I'm going to do when I have to do that four days in a row next week instead of three. At least my 101 class seems to have shed some students who apparently decided that either the class ran too late into the night or the workload looked too intense. Whatever the reason, it dropped from 40 students to 31, and that's fine by me. My other class is holding steady at 40.
In news that isn't about school...
I saw Disney's World of Color at California Adventure last weekend. It was definitely cool, and some of the effects were stunning, but I'm confused about why they chose randomly depressing clips for no reason. More thoughts to come after I've seen it again.
Rae and I went up to Visalia for
ald_fan_girl's birthday weekend two weekends ago, and we ended up playing laser tag in Fresno on a day when we were the only ones playing for all of the games that we bought. I am the world's worst laser tag player, but I still had fun pretending to be a super!secret ninja assassin. (So I MIGHT have been pretending to be Michael Westen a couple of times...) On our last game, the music was, for all intents and purposes, an awesome fandom mix. Pirates of the Caribbean, Superman, and some other stuff I've forgotten by now. It was epic. After our games were over and we sat around the Fresno B&N for hours, we ended up eating at this place called Pismo's that had amazing seafood. I'm picky about my scallops, and the ones I had were possibly the best I've ever tasted. In fact, pretty much everything we had was fantastic. Even the side dishes and the fries.... *drools at the mere memory of those fries*
skillsontoast is here, and I've been watching a lot of Robin Hood Season Three with her. Last night, we did The One with the Non-Coronation, The One With Meg, and The One with the Cracktastic Flashback.
skillsontoast flailed angrily with me over the feminist!fail, and I learned that no matter how many times I watch them, I will never be able to get through certain episodes without being on the verge of turning into a sobbing mess. At least now I'm ready to write my Robin and Guy friendship fic for
rhsidebyside, though. Yeah. That's why I put myself through that pain again... research. And because friends don't let friends watch those episodes alone.
This afternoon, we're going to see How to Train Your Dragon at the three dollar theater, and then we're going to come back and I'm going to make veggie stew with no recipe. (Or at least attempt to....) Then, tomorrow, we're taking
skillsontoast to Disneyland for the first time! I LOVE showing people around the park who have never been there before...
Should be an eventful weekend, and somewhere in there, I have to find time to record all of the papers I collected this week so that I can start next week with a clean slate.
