(no subject)
i have heard theories that a god created us. this raises the question: why? for entertainment? and if he's so powerful, why can't he just make all our lives perfect etc. In addition many people who don't believe ask if he can't make everything good, and take care of everyone, or if he created us because he was bored or something, why should we worship him (ok... maybe i'm the only one who asks that.) but I have another theory. What if this world and all of us were created by chance, and- by chance- this "god" happened to find us. and perhaps he is not all powerful, but neither were kings, pharaohs, or presidents, yet they were all venerated and in some cases very highly exalted. Maybe this god simply took it upon himself to watch over us and take care of us as best he can. And of course maybe he has other responsibilities, so he can't always attend to us, so things can go wrong. and perhaps he is not even the highest power, just the highest we know of. there are so many possibilities, why do people assume they know the only "true" possibility, when in fact it is more likely that they know nothing at all?
