Arizona
Well, I am in AZ. I don't have a regular internet connection yet. That shall wait until I have a job and we are a nice two-income family. But, a few quite reflections...
1) I like it here...a lot. Not enough to stay, but much more than Oklahoma. I miss the people there, but not the state.
2) Which brings me to...I miss people. LOL. Mary Beth has a few friends here that want to do the dinner thing. It will be nice to have some cool, married friends. But, I do miss my old friends in OK. Even those in CO, too! ;-)
3) The weather is hot. Yes, record heat so far. Greeeeeaaat. It's in the 90's. Ugh. But, that said, the evenings are beautiful. You can see the stars with such clarity.
4) There is indeed culture in this world. Woo-hoo! I have choices of plays, concerts, museums and movies! It is like a mini-paradise. I mean, 'The Dreamers' played here for a number of weeks. Plus, wonderful arts festivals, local clubs and many places to go and explore.
5) Mountains are cool. We live at the base of two. Hiking here I come! It is nice to look on the horizon and not see flat land.
6) Gas prices suck! It is about $1.95 here. Ugh! Such a scam.
7) Local news can be good. While not the best I have seen, it is a vast improvement over the drivel that is Oklahoma Tv stations. Plus, the newspaper here has real news and reporters -- not just AP stories. Yay!
