So, I've never done this before, but I actually had some answers to this week's
fannish5, so here goes!
The prompt was: "Five canon events that you found unbelievable and wished had not happened."
1) The series finale of Medium: So, they killed off Joe in the season finale. Which...makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Ghosts were getting Joe to do yoga to advance his career, Allison repeatedly had visions about minor issues in her family's life, there is no effing way that she would have let her husband get on a plane that was about to crash. Wouldn't happen. And if it did, there's no way she would ever get rid of Joe. He'd hang around in ghost form for the rest of those Dubois women's lives, offering advice and helping them solve crimes and stuff. So yeah, I just pretend it was one of Allison's scary dreams, and she wakes up in the morning to keep Joe from getting on the plane.
2. That whole thing with Zack working with Gormogon at the end of season 3 of Bones: NO. DID NOT HAPPEN. This was total and complete character assassination, and I don't buy it for a moment. Zack would never devote himself to a freaking serial killer, it's absurd. I actually stopped watching the show over this. I loved Zack.
3. The magic=addiction storyline in Buffy: Surely there could have been a more logical way for Willow to have some tension in her storyline. Given that magic was one of the things Willow and Tara bonded over, and that it almost seemed like a symbolic motif for lesbian love in seasons 4 and 5...I think it was kind of a dick move to use it to make Willow a Big Bad. I don't know, I just really didn't like that storyline.
4. Wash dying in Serenity: I don't have any logical reasons for why this shouldn't have happened, I just really wish it hadn't. I don't think it was necessary, and I fucking love Wash and his relationship with Zoe.
5. That whole 'Toby leaking info' storyline in The West Wing: Yeah, I just really like Toby, and this storyline left a bad taste in my mouth.
This has been "Friday Fandom Theatre" with your host, Corpruga. Now, time for me to devote more of my attention to the exciting climax of The Expendables, which I am watching with my dad. It is a work of cinematic genius. For certain definitions of "cinematic" and "genius."
