Shitting on the Public

Today, AP ran a fluff piece about the relationship between President Bush and Harriet Miers. Altogether it was unremarkable as it talks about cards the two would send one another on birthdays. Usual hyperbolic acolades like "greatest governor ever" were strung about in obsequious banter one would expect between a politician and his muse. Usual and unremarkable until this startling quote:

Bush wrote back to wish Miers a happy 52nd birthday, telling her that he appreciated her friendship and to "never hold back your sage advice." He ended with a postscript: "No more public scatology."

OK, all together now... WTF??? That one defies any traditional logic. All I can picture is a disorderly Miers throwing feces like a caged baboon. What on  earth could the Commander-in-Scat be talking about? Inquiring minds want to know.
