Meet Dexter. This little guy's mommy's owners were going to kill him and his brothers and sisters because they weren't invited guests. Luckily some very kind college student stepped in and took a few of them and put them on Craigslist. I just don't understand how someone could be so cruel. There are ALWAYS people willing to help out if you just know where to ask.
Dexter will be loved so much by our family. He slept with us last night through the whole night in a little covey I bought him and woke up only when Pat's alarm rang.
I am now waiting for the vet's office to open to get him some formula. The poor little guy was taken away from his mommy waaaay too soon. While he eats iams soft kitty food, he has a hard time of it and will need more nutrients. I want him to be a healthy, happy little guy.
It's funny how things work, though. I thought our oldest dog (Sierra) would ignore it and our youngest (McKenzie) be the one more interested. Little did I know... it was just the opposite. Sierra has designated herself mommy and watches over him constantly, even while he's napping.
See? That's Sierra's black hair... not mine. lol
She follows him around everywhere. I have to wonder which one would get in more trouble, though.
He loves people.
He's still napping on the couch and Sierra's lying on the floor beneath him. She's gotten up a few times and sniffed at the kitty and laid back down. Making sure, I guess. :) It's a good doggy.
